Saint Pierre

This Valentine’s Day, Saint Pierre at the W Kuala Lumpur hotel is celebrating love and fine dining with a very special menu curated by Chef-Owner Emmanuel Stroobant alongside Chef de Cuisine KimKevin de Dood on 14 February 2019.

The menu for couples, is described as “edible romance’’, as both Chef Stroobant and Chef de Dood’s collaborative magic touches brings a seven-course menu that is only available on Thursday, 14 February 2019, priced at RM778++ per person. There is an optional wine pairing per course priced at RM348++, with dinner starting from 6.30pm onwards.

The evening begins with a set of canapés blending a wide range of tastes and textures in five savoury bites. There is rice, carrot and kaffir lime; scallop, nori and celeriac; clam, leek and parsley; wagyu beef, beetroot and wasabi; and nasu, miso and lime.

The second course is Caviar, the first of four starters. Royal Belgian Oscietra caviar adorns a slightly poached oyster bathed in horseradish cream and a dill yuzu sauce. It is followed by Madai. Seared sea bream is presented with lobster ravioli in a slightly spicy yuzu kosho bisque.

The menu then moves from the sea back to land with Black Truffle. A shower of sliced, fresh late season winter black truffle covers a medley of royale mushroom with green peppercorn and poached egg in a white shio shoyu soy sauce foam. Ending the quartet of extravagant starters is the Foie Gras – earthy and creamy goose liver pan-fried and garnished with refreshing apple, cardamon and rhubarb.

The main course is a tender Australian milk-fed rose veal tenderloin roasted with vadouvan spices and served with parsnip and ginger. After the richness of the beef comes a palate cleanser of Kir Royale. This pre-dessert of blackcurrant marmalade and champagne sorbet gets a tiara of frothy cassis espuma.

The finale is Saint Pierre’s fragrant rendition of Ispahan – a combination of lychee mousse and gel with rose ice-cream and fresh raspberries.
