First of all, let me begin by wishing you a very Happy New Year! I hope that this year brings you much love and joy (those are the two most important money can’t buy things in life) and that you have much fulfillment in 2019!

2018 was a very eventful year for me. The first half was incredibly bad for my business (I run a digital/ social media marketing agency – http://mhbdigital.com) with most of my clients holding back to see what would happen during the Malaysian general elections. Fortunately, we had change for the better and as a direct result – my clients were much more confident after May, and thus our business in the second half of the year was pretty phenomenal, right up to the final week of December which was really surprising because the second half of December is usually a quiet month! I do hope this positive market trend continues in 2019!

To usher in the new year, I headed over to the rooftop bar at Sheraton Petaling Jaya (didn’t want to go to KL city as I really don’t like huge crowds and being stuck in traffic jams) with a couple of close friends. We had a nice view of the fireworks (albeit from afar) in the surrounding areas and we could even see the fireworks in Genting as it was a clear night.

Wine Kaki TTDI

Nothing super fancy but tastefully done.

I found this really affordable and value for money wine bar in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur with decent food and a good selection of wines. Best of all, they even have Tiger and Guinness on tap and sold at very reasonable prices even after happy hours which end at 9.00pm. Now the really surprising thing is that besides serving yakitori and some local and Western favourites, Wine Kaki has Keto diet friendly items on the menu like cauliflower/ broccoli rice with grilled chicken breast/ smoked duck/ pork chop at an affordable price. Who’d have thought!

Smoked duck! Went very well with the house red wine which was a Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 Recap

I have lots to be thankful for in 2018 and indeed I must thank God for his blessings. What a year it’s been with lots of really memorable occasions – from events and dinners, to concerts, and everything in between.
