Chinese New Year Special À La Carte Menu

Among a wide array of festive indulgences, Chef Tan’s innovative Baked Chicken with Garlic and Dry Scallop Sauce surely calls for some attention. This tender and juicy chicken dish is served with one of Chef Tan’s specialty sauces, ensuring diners a year of good health and beyond. Other highlights include Braised Duck with Red Yeast Rice and Peanut representing health and fertility, Pan-Fried Scallop minced Chicken topped with Citron Salsa calling for togetherness and joy, Deep Fried Prawn with Hawthorn Sauce topped with Osmanthus symbolizing happiness and New Year Specialties Yee Sang with a selection of premium sashimi and abalone boosting a year full of good fortune and prosperity.

A Chinese New Year dinner will not be complete without the tossing of Yee Sang. Yee Sang is symbolic of good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious. At Five Sen5es, Unity Chinese New Year Specialties ‘Lou Sang’ offers a variety of Yee Sang including Norwegian Fresh Salmon Yee Sang and Sliced Two Head Abalone Yee Sang. Diners also have the options to enhance the dish by topping add-ons to the selected Yee Sang. With Chef Tan’s special plum sauce, gather your family and friends and start tossing all the way to abundance of joy and happiness!

One World Hotel Petaling Jaya celebrates the upcoming Lunar New Year with an epicurean journey of specially curated meaningful dishes that Chinese Chef, Loh Weng Lam and his culinary have prepared at the hotel’s Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant.

Choose to celebrate the Year of the “Earth Dog” by partaking in 7 or 9-course set menus offered; Happiness, Harmony and Longevity. Each set menu begins with a colourful platter of Fruit Yee Sang, symbolising abundance and prosperity, followed by customary dishes such as Braised Seafood Soup with Fish Roe or Double Boiled Abalone Soup with Fish Maw and Sun Dried Scallops.

Other auspicious offerings include the Deluxe Abalone ‘Poon Choi’ Hong Kong Style, Braised Garden Greens, Dried Scallops and Money Bags with Superior Oyster Sauce, Wok Fried White Sea Prawns with King Soy Sauce and Claypot Rice with Fried Yam, Preserved Duck Meat and Sausage.

Conclude your meal on a sweet note with refreshing Hot Red Bean with Lotus Seed, Lily Bulb and Dried Orange Peel, Sweetened Dried Longan with Six Treasures and Zuan Yuan’s signature Nian Gao or glutinous rice cake.

A toss of colourful Yee Sang is definitely a must every Chinese New Year, and Zuan Yuan has a selection of five selections of Yee Sang with Crystal Pear in different variations such as Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Salmon, Abalone and Salmon Skin specially prepared to simply freshen up the palate.

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

  

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral will be offering a prosperous spread at Nook, WXYZ Bar, MaiBar and its function spaces for an auspicious start to the New Year from 22 January – 2 March 2018. The Chinese New Year specials on the buffet at Nook, the Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant and the set menus for the private dinning offers were created by Aloft’s Executive Chinese Chef, Ng Kok Wai.  

Nook’s buffet spread will feature a wide range of dishes in celebration of the Lunar New Year  from meat dishes, to seafood and vegetable dishes accustomed with the festivities. Amongst some of the dishes available are the 5 Spice Braised Duck Leg with Young Ginger, Cantonese 5 Treasure Steam Soya Sauce Chicken, Szechuan Style Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens, Kung Poa Squid with Dried Chilli and Cashew Nuts, Chilli Crab with Steamed Mantou, Poached Prawn with Shimeji Mushroom and Wolfberries, Szechuan Style Beancurd with Minced Beef and Eggplant Vegetarian Tau Kan with ‘Fatt Choy’ and more dishes all served on a rotational basis.

The spread for the Lunar New Year will be complemented with Nook’s local dishes which are a staple to the restaurant’s buffet line as well as the Malaysian must-have for any reunion dinner, the Yee Sang. No Chinese New Year spread will be complete without the prosperity toss of the Yee Sang. Nook’s Prosperity Tuberosum (potato) Salmon Yee Sang on the buffet line at the DIY Yee Sang station.

The Prosperity Tuberosum Salmon Yee Sang together with the Golden Pumpkin Jelly Fish Duo Yee Sang will both be available for take-away in two sizes, regular and large. The Prosperity Tuberosum Salmon Yee Sang is priced at RM128 nett for the regular size and RM198 nett for the large while the Golden Pumpkin Jelly Fish Duo Yee Sang is priced at RM113 nett for the regular and RM148 nett for the large. Nook’s Lunar New Year buffet dinner during this period is priced at RM118 nett per adult.

Guests who are looking to dine in private with a set menu and the traditional round table setting can do so by booking tables in our event and function spaces with an option of three menus to choose from. The menus were created by the Chinese Cuisine’s Executive Sous Chef, Ng Kok Wai, and offer a combination of traditional and modern dishes to shake-up the traditional Lunar New Year menu offerings.

For the New Year season, Aloft’s Auspicious 9 package features the three set menus, Happiness, Prosperity, Auspicious, offering guests with an exciting package for a sit-down luncheon or dinner celebration. Guests who opt for a minimum of 25 tables and above will be entitled to perks inclusive of RM9+ per hour for free flow of soft drinks, and RM999+ for every second barrel of beer bought for the event.

The Hotel’s Happiness menu offers diners with 8 festive dishes starting with the Prosperity Tuberosum Salmon Fish Yee Sang, Double-boiled Fish Maw Cordycep Broth, Classic Eight Treasure Wild Duck, Steamed Live Red Mullet Fish, Extremely Tasty Egg Baked Tiger Prawn, Wealth Foison Cheese Angle with Asparagus and Premium Cranberries Egg Fluid Fried Rice and a dessert dish to end the meal on a sweet note with the Signature Sweetened Snow Lotus in Red Bean Cream.

The Prosperity menu, priced at RM1899+ is a 8-course menu in which features the Golden Pumpkin Duo Fish Yee Sang, Braised Crab Claw Scallop Broth, Crisp Fried Almond Seaweed Chicken, Fortune Golden Hot Garlic Sand Sea Bass Fish, Calamansi Buttery Tiger Prawn, Golden Corn Kernel with Duo Flower, Fragrant Taro Smokey Oyster Lotus Leaf Rice with a cold dessert dish, Chilled Sweetened Pomelo with Snow Lotus.

The Auspicious menu on the other hand, is a 6-course menu priced at RM1699+. This menu offers the Golden Pumpkin Duo Fish Yee Sang, Classic Poached Steamed Chicken Roulade, Golden Tangerine Crispy Live Red Snapper Fish, Fortune Exploding Bamboo in Curd Roulade, Fragrant Taro Smoked Oyster Lotus Leaf Rice, Double-Boiled Lotus Soy Bean Broth.

The Hotel’s bars will be serving Lunar New Year inspired cocktails with W XYZ Bar offering Good Fortune, a concoction of Bourbon, Orange Juice, Lychee Liqueur and Syrup for only RM30nett or try MaiBar’s Ong Mali  cocktail of Vodka, Midori, Cranberry, Pineapple and Honey  at only RM30 nett. Dynasty Chinese Restaurant at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel

  

Executive Sous Chef Kok Chee Kin and his team of talented chefs at Dynasty Restaurant are all set to immerse your senses with Festive Menus that capture the finest flavors of Cantonese cuisine from 2 February until 2 March 2018 in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

From the festive Dim Sum selection to timeless Treasure Pots or Poon Choi, a superb selection of Set Menus and a line-up of Yee Sang to please all palates, Dynasty is the place to spoil or be spoiled by family and friends.

Focusing on the use of traditional ingredients while emphasizing on light and fresh flavors for healthy feasting, Chef Kin has created three (3) festive set menus complete with Yee Sang and Dynasty’s fortune pastries. They are Happiness at RM1,788nett, Fortune at RM2,188nett and Longevity at RM3,388nett per table of ten (10) persons.  

Besides the above, the 6-course and 7-course Double Delight menus for two (2) persons are available and are priced at RM378nett and RM578nett respectively. Groups of six (6) persons are covered with the 9-course Six Happiness Set at RM1,188nett. Meanwhile, the 7-course and the 8-course Prosperity Treasure Pot Sets for five (5) persons are meant to impress. These menus come with Yee Sang for diners to toss to their luck and good fortune. 

No Lunar New Year reunion meal is complete without ‘Yee Sang’. Toss to prosperity and good health with the colourful mixture of raw fish or exotic seafood served with crunchy vegetables, crackers and condiments. These raw ingredients signify the renewal of life. Dynasty Restaurant offers three (3) types of Deluxe Yee Sang – Salmon, Fruity Fiesta and Jellyfish. From the Premium Yee Sang selection, there is a choice of Sea cucumber, abalone & pseudo shark’s fin, Abalone, jellyfish, scallop, salmon & lobster and Mini abalone. 

Take-away Yee Sang in “half serving” and “full serving” can also be arranged for home reunion dinners and special get-togethers. Ti Chen Chinese Restaurant at The Saujana Hotel

  

The Ti Chen restaurant at the Saujana Hotel is set to welcome the Year of the Dog with an extravagant spread of specialty gourmet dishes available in three themed set menu creations – Spring and Happiness, Everlasting Prosperity, and Wealth and Fortune – signifying representations of the astrological tradition.

This year’s Lunar New Year menu will be available from 5 January to 2 March, except of 16 February. Daily meal times are from 12 pm – 3 pm (lunch) and 6 pm – 10 pm (dinner).

“This year’s meal packages have been created targeting families and friends of all sizes to foster a year dedicated to promoting family values and comfort, loyalty, warmth, and goodness,” says Chef Lim Chee Woi, Chinese Executive Chef. “It is indeed a special time for Malaysians to celebrate and welcome the auspicious New Year filled with peace, prosperity, and goodwill.”

The affordable set meal packages for five and ten people cover a full range of time-honoured favourites including roasted chicken, pan-fried jumbo tiger prawns, steamed glutinous rice, honey-glazed baked Norwegian salmon fillets, braised abalone ten head, sun-dried Shiitake mushrooms, dried oysters, crispy deep-fried Chinese New Year cake with brown sugar, and much more.

The meal packages also come with three different varieties of Yee Sang, a customary dish flavoured with blackcurrant plum dressing and crispy shredded treasures, which is tossed to symbolise good luck, health, prosperity and all things favourable.

The price for set meal packages for five ranges from RM888 to RM1,688 and for ten from RM1,688 to 2,888, inclusive of 10% service charge and 6% GST. Also available during the festive season is Ti Chen’s Chinese New Year A’la Carte mix-and match menu.

As an extension to the Chinese New Year festivities, the Saujana Hotel will host a lion dance performance in the lobby area on 23 February at 10:30 am. The performance will feature exciting acrobatic stunts followed by an animated lion dance with thundering drums and cymbals to evict evil spirits and summon good luck for the New Year.
