“Bucked Out Seafood Market” Buffet at Gobo Chit Chat, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Beatrice, Jia Jia and I recently headed over to Gobo Chit Chat at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur for their new Bucked Out Seafood Market promotion! The new seafood buffet concept offers more than 130 types of food on the buffet spread, such as Wok Fried Green Mussel with Black Bean, Szechuan Style Spicy Crab Meat Soup, Grilled Squid with Orange Sauce, Tiger Prawns with Cream Corn, Seafood Lasagna, Seafood Pella Rice, Garlicky Broiled Salmon and Tomatoes, Seafood Bisque with Variety Mixed Seafood, and a whole lot more!

The new Bucked Out Seafood Market concept allows you to select your own fresh seafood in a bucket. Choose from a huge variety of seafood such as crabs, prawns, scallops, mussels, clams, yabbies, and indeed all sorts of crustaceans. When you’re done selecting, hand the bucket of seafood over to the chefs to cook it in your preferred sauce while he brings it to your table after. You may choose from a variety of sauces such as Curry Cheese Sauce, Sichuan Chili Sauce, Sambal Sauce, Rendang and Thai Coriander Lime Garlic Sauce.


The seafood on Ice selection included steamed Baby Lobster, Blue Yabbies, Live Prawn, Scallops with Roe, Alaska King Crab, Blue Crab, fresh water prawn, Live Prawn Tower, Clam Sapak Big, Black Mussels, green mussels and more!



After you’re done selecting your seafood (oh BTW you can have as many buckets as you like but please don’t waste!), pass the bucket to the chefs on duty then select your Bucked Out Sauce from Sichuan chili sauce, Curry Cheese sauce, Thai Coriander lime garlic sauce, Sambal, or Rendang sauce.


While you’re waiting for your seafood to be cooked, help yourself to the other items at the buffet.


Salad and Appetizers included Prawn avocado spicy salad with quail egg, Mix vegetable with cheese, Mussel with orange dressing, Hawaiian tortellini (chicken salad), Spicy kerabu seafood, Fruits beetroot salad, Baby Carrot, Baby Octopus, tomato, Artichoke, Button Mushroom, Asparagus, sun dried tomatoes and Olive,garlic shallot, stuffed olive, feta cheese. and more!


When they say it’s a seafood buffet, it really is quite a crazy selection! However there are also some non-seafood selections to go along with some seafood favourites such as the selection of smoked seafood and meats like the Smoked chicken, Pickled Herring, Salmon Gravalax with orange, and salmon Gravalax with dill. If you like cheese, there’s also a wide selection of Cheeses which includes Gouda Cheese, Emmental Cheese, Edam Cheese, Goat Cheese, Natural Brie Cheese, Blue Cheese, with condiments like grapes, dried mango, etc. etc.

To complement the seafood selections are some hot dishes (mostly non-seafood) such as the Thai Style Spicy Seafood Lala, Spicy Lamb Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Jenahak Assam Pedas Lady Finger, Beef Rendang Tok, Chicken Satay and Beef Satay with Satay Sauce, Chicken Roulade In Soubise Sauce, Beef Cheek, Lamb Leg with Mediterranean, Roasted mixed vegetables and more!

Sushi and Sashimi such as Salmon, Tuna, Kanapchi, Snapper, Eel, Octopus,
The Noodles Station had Curry Laksa, Chicken Soup, Prawn Soup to go along with seafood
Ayam Bakar With Sos Percik Muar Style
Thai Style Grilled Fish Coated With Sea Salt


The Carving Station had BBQ Lamb Ribs, Roast Beef Prime Ribs, Mashed Potato & Roast Potato and Grilled Vegetables. Also available were Breaded Squid, Classic Lamb Shepherd Pie, Battered Cajun Compromise Fish, Seafood Fried Rice, Braised beancurd with salted vegetables, Grill Lamb Shoulder with Oriental Sauce.

There was also the seafood station with Chilli Mud Crab, Steam red snapper, Ikan Kembung, Ikan Kerisik, Fish selar, Fish cencaru, Fish sardine, Fish keli, Fish sembilang laut, Fish tongkol, Baby Garupa, Stingray fish, Bawal. Honestly, the variety of dishes was simply astounding!

And finally the moment of truth!

You’ll get some plastic gloves to use so you won’t dirty your hands. Time to dig in!

Try requesting for more sauces as the sauces really add loads of flavour to the umaminess of the seafood! I for one really enjoyed the spicy sauces which went oh so well with my favs – the scallops and crabs! This buffet is really one for seafood lovers! (BTW I was totally fine the next day proving that the seafood was really very fresh!)
