Events – Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s 12 Anniversary Celebration and the Launch of Red by Sirocco

[Events]

We recently attended a party on 28 July 2018 at SkyBar in conjunction with the 12th anniversary celebration of Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Before the party, we enjoyed the delicious Bucked Out Seafood Buffet at Gobo Chit Chat located on the 5th floor of the hotel.

The seafood buffet has a very unique concept which is currently one of a kind in the city and you can read more about it here – https://timchew.net/2018/04/25/bucked-out-seafood-market-buffet-at-gobo-chit-chat-traders-hotel-kuala-lumpur/

Gobo Chit Chat which was bustling with patrons that evening! I highly suggest that you book in advance should you wish to have the Bucked Out seafood buffet!
There’s a large selection of seafood, as well as some favourites such as roast beef, chicken, satay, and other non-seafood dishes.
First up – select the fresh seafood that you want and put it into a bucket. Then pass the bucket to the chefs on duty and tell them which sauce you’d like them to cook it in. Then head over to the other sections and grab some other food while your seafood is being cooked.

Executive Sous Chef Amirul personally sent over the cooked bucket of seafood to our table. He also gave us the grand tour of the buffet and explained the concept and pointed out some signature dishes!

Oh just look at that steaming pile of delicious seafood! We choose the salted egg sauce and it was absolutely delicious! There are also another four (4) types of sauces for you to choose from.
We also enjoyed some fresh oysters from the buffet line

After dinner, it was time to head upstairs to SkyBar for the party featuring Skyluxtakut, DJ Tiana, and Frannie Luv.

SkyBar was happening as usual!
You can get a spectacular view of the Petronas Twin Towers from one side of SkyBar.

Launch of Red by Sirocco

Kassey and I headed over to RED by Sirocco hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 24 July 2018 for the grand launch of the hotel. RED by Sirocco is a 4-star boutique hotel where guests can expect to connect with and fully immerse themselves in the ‘redness’ concept – Relax, Enjoy and Dream.

RED by Sirocco, Kuala Lumpur is developed and owned by M101 Holdings Sdn. Bhd, and managed by Sirocco Hospitality Group, the hospitality arm of M101 Group of Companies. It is also a recipient of ‘Best City Hotel’ award by the Property Insight Prestigious Developer Awards (PIPDA) 2018.

The celebration kicked off with a luminous LED lion dance performance to symbolically bless the hotel with prosperity and good luck. This was the very first time I witnessed a LED lion dance actually and I must admit that it was pretty cool! The dance was followed by another animated dance performance, this time by The RED squad, the Hotel’s very own associates showcasing their creative vibes and injecting fun into everything that they do.

“RED by Sirocco, Kuala Lumpur is the new kid on the block with the commitment to never stop providing the best hotel experience to all our guests. Here, we want to make sure that everyone has 101 reasons to stay with us, and only one reason – if at all, to leave when it is time to check out”, enthused Datin Lea Chan, CEO of Sirocco Hospitality Group.

I actually stayed in one of these rooms (with the double bed) when the MHB influencers and I were at the launch of Rouge Club which is on the roof of the hotel. Apart from the spaciousness of the room, I particularly liked the fact that there’s a capsule type coffee machine which I used to make a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning! The room was also modern and tastefully decorated and came with free Wi-Fi!
The lobby
Located on the 23rd floor, the high-ceiling Grand Sky Ballroom provides a panoramic view of the KL city skyline. It features a column-less space that can accommodate up to 450 persons for theatre-style seating and 270 persons for a banquet-style dinner (without stage).
The infinity pool is on the roof and you’ll get a great view of KL Tower. Next to the pool (not in the photo) is The Rouge Club, a rooftop club located on the 25th floor which features a variety of cocktails, popular DJs and bands.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the ‘Tallest Mural in Malaysia’ record for the bold mural extending the entire length of one of its walls by the Malaysia Book Of Records. The concept of the mural design reflects Malaysia as a tropical country. The Malaysian Dayak ethnic group was chosen to represent Malaysia together with national flower ‘Bunga Raya’ surrounded by other florals showcasing Malaysia’s natural tropical beauty. Fishes floating in the air depict ‘Relax’ in the air. The Parrot represents chasing one’s ‘Dream’ by soaring higher and the freedom to create art. The ‘Enjoy’ element is represented by the different culture’s food such as tropical fruit and Chinese noodles, highlighting us Malaysian’s love for eating. Local artist Kenji Chai used 400 litres of paint, around 100 litres of spray and three gondolas for his task. Painting approximately 10 hours every day, Kenji successfully completed his masterpiece in less than a month.

After dinner, we headed up to The Rouge Club overlooking the spectacular KL city skyline for the after-party!

RED by Sirocco, Kuala Lumpur is tucked away in the nostalgic Dang Wangi neighbourhood, a stone’s throw away from the popular Yut Kee restaurant and Asian Heritage Row (renamed The Row), while Quill City Mall and the monorail station beside it is a mere 5 minutes walk away!

The hotel is managed by the Sirocco Hospitality Group, and has a collection of 143 stylishly-designed and spacious guestrooms comprising Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms. All guestrooms feature high-speed Internet with individual IP and Wi-Fi, USB ports at all the right spots, 49” LCD television with cable multi-channels, amongst other premier amenities. Rooms cater to both coffee and tea connoisseurs with a Cafes Richard machine complete with aromatic French coffee capsules, as well as a classic signature Chinese tea set. Each room is also equipped with a ceiling fan for added comfort and a balcony with views of heritage Kuala Lumpur or the iconic KL Tower. Art pieces by local artists adorn the walls whilst a designer standing lamp adds to the aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from its location in Dang Wangi, the design of RED by Sirocco, Kuala Lumpur is a blend of the old and new. The lobby is outfitted with quirky furniture and on its walls are displayed both heritage and contemporary art pieces painted by local artists.

For MICE, the hotel offers 6,040sq feet of event space including meeting rooms and a Grand Sky Ballroom outfitted with the latest audiovisual equipment, providing flexibility to organisers to host themed events, weddings, meetings and conventions.
