Oris Artelier Jumping Hour Launch
[Watch and Timepiece News]
Swiss watch manufacturer Oris, launched the Oris Artelier Jumping Hour on 2 October 2014 at its roadshow at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. The timepiece is the first in the family to reveal its digital hour through a jumping disk that changes instantaneously every sixty minutes.
Oris was founded by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in 1904, and has been making watches in Switzerland for over 100 years. Oris is the name of a brook and valley close to Hölstein in Switzerland, and has its origins in the Celtish ‘Aurisa’ and Roman ‘Orusz’ meaning watercourse. Its watches are purely mechanical, have a distinctive design, and are recognisable by its the red rotor, the symbol of Oris mechanicals. Oris watches are worn by celebrities from Formula One, diving, jazz, aviation, and Hollywood.
The timepiece is the latest addition to Oris’ Artelier collection, and features a unique face with only two intersecting counters to track the minutes and seconds, housed atop a silver guilloche dial with polished nickel indices and polished nickel hand.
It is water-resistant up to five bars, and constructed from a resilient multi-piece stainless steel case and crown, and has a double-domed sapphire crystal. A dark brown leather strap with croco pattern and a stainless steel folding clasp attached it to your wrist elegantly. The piece demonstrates Oris’ watchmaking expertise and horological ambition, built up over 110 years of watchmaking history.
“The design is elegant, but put together with its innovative feature, it makes for a whole that is wiser than the sum of its parts. Collectors will take notice of the watch not only for its visual characteristic but for its technical ones as well. It’s a stunning timepiece that would suit any occasion.” said Micheal Meier, Regional Manager, Malaysia and Singapore, Oris.
Oris is exclusively distributed in Malaysia by Swiss Prestige, and the Oris Artelier Jumping Hour will be available at selected watch retailers nationwide.
More information on the watch and retailers is available at www.oris.ch

Kronenbourg 1664 Food Marchè
I missed out on a couple of Kronenbourg 1664 “Taste the French Way of Life”events after the rooftop BBQ at The Roof and the movie night at GSC which you can read here:
However as I do like food (and beer!) I’ve decided to go for the upcoming Kronenbourg 1664 Food Marche which will feature a market-like ambience on 17 October 2014 from 7.00pm at Eau De Vie in Nexus, Bangsar South. Kronenbourg 1664 is bringing hardworking Malaysians on a little culinary journey to enjoy decadent food the way the French do – in a relaxed, enjoyable manner where you can take your own time to savour the cuisines. It’s always good to balance our hectic schedules, which is what Kronenbourg 1664’s ‘Taste the French Way of Life’ is about.
Since Food Marchè means food market, so expect some dishes with French quirkiness – fresh array of oysters, salmon mousse, wasabi shrimp, and a selection of cheeses. Apart from eating the food, you will be able to relieve your stress by hitting it all away on the notorious Kronenbourg 1664’s Hammer Machine. Simply imagine your boss’ face on the anvil and whack it as hard as you can ha ha! There will also be the Kronenbourg 1664 “Wheel of Fortune” where various gifts could be won, and you can have your quality moments hand-drawn by Kronenbourg 1664’s special caricature artist! Play and enjoy all these activities while chilling over some ice-cold Kronenbourg 1664 to the tunes of talented local musicians.
This night of festivities can be enjoyed by choosing one of two packages:
Package A – RM 65 nett
3 pints of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc
1 booklet of x10 RM 2 vouchers
1 chance at the Wheel of Fortune
Package B – RM 110 nett
1 tower of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc
2 booklets of x10 RM 2 vouchers
2 chances at the Wheel of Fortune
If you’re one of the first 50 people to arrive, you will receive a complimentary bottle of Kronenbourg 1664 and 1 voucher booklet worth RM 20.00! The vouchers are used to purchase dishes which mostly go for RM2.00 except for the special selection of oysters, cheeses and Eau De Vie’s signature Roast Beef with Horseradish (these dishes which will require more vouchers).
Taste The French Way of Life Upcoming Events:
7 November – Broadway show. Kick-up those heels and sing along because this is going to be a show to remember!
4 December – Kronenbourg 1664 Year-End celebration. It’ll be the most fun you’ll have this year!
