Carlsberg’s Chinese New Year 2013 Promotion Launch

I rarely go over to Ampang. I’m a PJH boy and I hate the traffic there. If I do its to visit one of my best friends or if there’s an event on at The Pool. However this was to be one of the rare occasions which was none of the aforementioned reasons.

Headed over to Bandar Baru Ampang for the launch of Carlsberg Malaysia’s Chinese New Year 2013 promotion on 9 January 2013 with MHB’s Chelsea and Ashley. Already there were MHB’s Andy Kho, Sarah, Nicole Fong while Valerie joined us after work.

We arrived before the event’s programme officially kicked off so we chilled with some beers and tidbits such as traditional Chinese sweets, dried meat, and even roast duck! Everyone was feeling in a rather festive Chinese New Year mood as on hand to entertain us was a traditional Chinese instrumental band.

After last year’s launch which featured a 100 meter flying dragon I was half expecting a 100 meter snake to come slithering along but as Carlsberg Malaysia is pretty dynamic they had other plans in store for us.

Here’s some detailed info on the Carlsberg ‘Tree of Abundance’ Road Show:

The road show called the ‘Golden Entourage’ and will begin on January 11 and continue until February 22 and will travel across Peninsular Malaysia.

In addition to the Carlsberg ‘Tree of Abundance’, the ‘Golden Entourage’ will also feature a Carlsberg truck, 8 Fook Gods (God of Prosperity) and lion dance performance.

Carlsberg consumers who visit the ‘Tree of Abundance’ will also stand a chance to get some giveaways which are part of the Carlsberg RM6,800,000 consumer redemption promotion.

Carlsberg consumers will receive one crown cork per person which they will toss into a ‘Wishing ‘Fountain’ at the base of the Tree releasing a ‘coin box’ from the Tree trunk. In the coin box, there will be a Chinese New Year greeting messages for consumers and if you’re really lucky yo might just get any one of the following bottle caps with the following codes:

CNY1 – RM11,888 giant ang pow

CNY2 – RM1,188 big ang pow

CNY3 – Free big (quart) bottle of Carlsberg

CNY4 – One deck of Chinese New Year themed playing cards available in two designs

You can also stand to win the prizes above by purchasing big bottles of Carlsberg, Asahi Super Dry or Royal Danish Stout from participating outlets throughout the country so do remember to check your bottle caps!
