Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) officially launched the Stargazer in Malaysia on 22 September 2026. The Stargazer is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) built for family use, in three variants priced from RM99,800.

Hyundai is marketing the model as “The WEhicle”, a positioning built around how families use their cars from day to day. The range comprises the Style, Prime and X, which differ in space, connectivity and comfort. The Style and Prime are seven-seaters, while the X has a six-seat captain-chair layout and SUV-inspired styling.

“The New STARGAZER is not just another MPV entering the market. We call it the ‘WEhicle’. It was engineered around what modern families value most – smart space, accessible premium comfort, and uncompromised safety. The STARGAZER was thoughtfully crafted to keep passengers comfortable and connected, while making everyday driving effortless for the person behind the wheel.”

Hyundai said the cabin was planned around the way families use a car: the school run, evening pick-ups, trips with parents, or making room when one more person joins. It said the vehicle’s flexible seating, storage and convenience features are meant to help the cabin adapt through the journey.

Those features include a cargo floor box with lid, a seat-back table and multiple USB ports. Roof-mounted rear air-conditioning vents are also fitted. The seating layout is designed to carry more people without compromising comfort, the company said. On the Stargazer X, a floating centre console with a detachable tray adds further flexibility.

The Stargazer carries Hyundai SmartSense, the company’s suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Depending on the variant, the ADAS 2.0 features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Following Assist. Hyundai said these are intended to help drivers in both busy urban traffic and on longer highway journeys.

The Stargazer Prime also has six airbags. Selected variants have dual 10.25-inch displays, and available features include wireless charging and an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold.

Hyundai said the Stargazer departs from conventional MPV styling and is aimed at a new generation of family car buyers. The Stargazer X goes further with sporty front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, black Hyundai emblems and black gloss alloy wheels, alongside the six-person captain-seat layout.

The Stargazer Style, at RM99,800, is the entry point to the range. It has a seven-seat 2+3+2 layout, LED headlamps with H-signature daytime running lights, an 8-inch multimedia player, a 4.2-inch TFT LCD meter colour cluster and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Stargazer Prime, at RM109,800, adds dual 10.25-inch displays, the SmartSense ADAS 2.0 suite and six airbags.

The Stargazer X, at RM121,800, brings the SUV-inspired styling, a 2+2+2 captain-chair configuration, full leatherette seats and Shift-By-Wire transmission control.

During the launch period, HMY is offering an Early Bird Value Package of RM4,600, which includes the RM88 booking fee. It covers eight free after-sales services or four years of free servicing. The package also carries the All-Star Reward programme: existing Hyundai owners receive an additional RM1,000 rebate when buying a new Stargazer.

All new Stargazer owners are covered by the myHyundaiCare warranty programme, which runs for eight years or 160,000km.

Hyundai is also introducing a Stargazer Resale Value Protection (RVP) programme, which it describes as the first of its kind in the segment. The programme guarantees a predetermined resale value when customers upgrade to a new Hyundai vehicle. Customers can choose when to upgrade: 70% in the third year with up to 60,000km, 60% in the fourth year with up to 80,000km, or 50% in the fifth year with up to 100,000km.

The Stargazer’s three variants give buyers a clear choice between price and equipment. The Style keeps the entry price under RM100,000 but has two airbags and no SmartSense driver assistance. Buyers who want the six airbags and ADAS 2.0 that Hyundai highlights will need the RM109,800 Prime, a RM10,000 step up. The RM121,800 X is for those who want the six-seat captain-chair layout and the more rugged styling.
