[Hotel/ Dining]

We recently headed over to Curate at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur for an exclusive preview of their “Sajian Merentasi Zaman” (Food Across Generations) buffet in conjunction with the upcoming month of Ramadan. This was the third year that the menu was curated by Malaysia’s favourite culinary celebrity Chef Dato’ Fazley Yaakob, and will run from 13 April to 12 May 2021.
This year’s “Sajian Merentasi Zaman” buffet features beloved recipes from Chef Dato’ Fazley’s childhood, with an emphasis on authentic local flavours. The menu introduces young guests to Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, and recreates long-forgotten dishes to delight older guests, especially the “kedai runcit” or sundry store in the corner full of childhood treats such as sweets and potato chips that were popular in school canteens and sundry shops of yesteryear. This gives a chance for families to connect across age groups and build family bonds over precious memories.
Notable dishes include nasi tumpang ayam bakar pasu (flavoured herb rice with charcoal chicken cooked in claypot), puyuh salai and kulit mangga muda bakar (smoked quail with grilled unripe mangoes) and ikan sepat masin masak lemak cili api dengan buah cermai dan pucuk pegaga (fermented freshwater fish in turmeric cream with cermai fruits and pegaga).
The feast will also feature live cooking stations that will add some festivity and action in the main dining hall, while #FSKLFlavourBomb offers a tantalising burst of tastes and textures. Each family will also receive a bottle of homemade sambal, compliments of the chef.

Sajian Merentasi Zaman is available from 13 April to 12 May 2021 at Curate priced at:
- 13 – 18 April and 7 – 12 May 2021: priced at MYR 189 per adult and MYR 94.50 per child (ages 6-12)
