Envi Skydining Opening Party

We headed over to Envi Skydining on 7 December 2019 for the Opening Party of the newest rooftop restaurant and bar in Kuala Lumpur. Envi Skydining is the latest rooftop restaurant and bar located in Menara TA One along Jalan P. Ramlee which is just a stone’s throw away from KLCC.
The establishment is divided intro three (3) main area namely the restaurant section (for dining), the club section which can also be transformed into an event space, and the almost 340 degree outdoor bar area which offers a panoramic view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline, including the Petronas Twin Towers.
As such, this latest establishment is a very good option for those who would like to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks at KLCC but do not wish to be engulfed by the crowds below on the street level.
We just snapped a few photos as we were rushing to go over to Hennessy Night. Rest assured that we will be back for an in-depth review of Envi Skydining.
Envi Skydining is located at:
36th Floor, Menara TA One,
22, Jalan P Ramlee,
50250 Kuala Lumpur,

[Update]
As promised, I did return to Envi Skydining, this time together with MHB Digital’s (http://mhbdigital.com) Principal Photographer Andy Kho and a couple of our Instagrammers, to try the Christmas menu at Envi Skydining.
The photos below were shot with the Oppo Reno2 with absolutely zero editing/ post-processing.

Soup – Cream of Vegetable
A heartwarming soup with garlic croutons that really added a nice contrasting texture and flavour to the dish.
Main (choice of)
Pan Seared then Oven Baked Chicken Breast
rolled with traditional Christmas stuffing, and served with mashed potatoes, sauteed seasonal vegetables and cranberry cream reduction.
I for one really don’t know why people in Malaysia have turkey during Christmas (Americans have turkey during the Thanksgiving holiday) however it really is not one of my favourite proteins especially since not many chefs in Malaysia know how to prepare it properly. Often times, it just ends up dry, tough and very tasteless.
Hence, I was quite pleased to see that Envi Skydining had chicken instead of turkey as one for the mains on the Christmas menu. It was juicy, tender and flavourful, with a nice contrast of texture coming from the stuffing which has nuts (among other ingredients).
Braised Lamb Shank
served with mashed potatoes
I’m told that this is one of the bestselling main dishes at Envi Skydining and it certainly didn’t disappoint! This was quite a generous helping of tasty and tender lamb and boy was I full when I finished! Highly recommended for meat eaters with a large appetite!
Homemade Fruitcake
served with vanilla ice cream
A sweet and creamy end to the meal.
Tortino – RM30
molten chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream
Because girls always have space for desserts, we decided to try some of Envi Skydining’s popular desserts. The Tortino is a favourite among those celebrating birthdays! A warm brownie with chocolate lava flowing out when you slice into it! The deep chocolaty richness is balanced out by the creamy vanilla ice cream!
Classic Crepe Suzette – RM28
flambed with Grand Marnier
Whip out your phone and set the camera to video mode for this one as it is flambed right before your eyes! This is the dessert to order if you want to impress your date especially if she’s Gen Y or Gen Z.
Signature Snow Ice (Mango) – RM24
Finely shaved snow ice makes this dessert a nice end to a meal especially on a warm day! There are also other flavours to choose from namely chocolate, green tea and strawberry.
Apart from the Christmas menu, Envi Skydining also has a special menu for New Year’s Eve.
The girls were most impressed with the Oppo Reno2’s sharksfin pop up 16MP selfie camera which made everyone look so gorgeous!

Hennessy Night Kuala Lumpur December 2019
After dinner at Envi Skydining, we headed over to Hennessy Night which was not too far away. Hennessy Night was like a mini Hennessy Artistry and was a fun little throwback of the golden era of epic Hennessy parties in Malaysia (which you can read about here – https://timchew.net/tag/hennessy-artistry/).
The new setup though, was catered for social media with a brightly lit lounge with mirrors making for a cool backdrop for photos. After all, we all have to improve and change with the times to remain relevant and on top of the game!
Wonder if Hennessy Artistry will be making a return next year. Now that would be truly remarkable!

The photos and video in this feature were shot using the new OPPO Reno2 smartphone without any editing whatsoever. I was truly impressed by how the phone handled the night shots of the Petronas Twin Towers, as well as the photos in Envi Skydining’s club.
We also put the camera’s Ultra Steady Video Mode with Electronic Image Stabilization and Optical Image Stabilization to the test again. I honestly don’t see any need for gimbals if you’re shooting video with this phone. A pretty nifty feature indeed!
