Edox recently launched the EDOX AUTOMATIC CARBON CHRONOGRAPH collection in partnership with Pal Virik Nilson and Brett Luhrmann of Team Australia in the XCAT racing world championship, one of the world’s most exciting offshore powerboat racing series. 

In the Swiss watch industry where it is difficult to break the traditions of watch-making, brands have found innovative ways to present themselves through the design and use of innovative materials such as carbon in their watch construction. 

In this case, carbon, a material known for its strength and lightness, is unattainable to many on the basis of price. However, the new EDOX AUTOMATIC CARBON CHRONOGRAPH, a watch that offers the material in the construction of its case, comes in at a price-point which is more accessible to more consumers, while maintaining its premium posture.

The different coloured case options are achieved via a ground breaking technology that are only seen in luxury Swiss watch brands that few are able to afford. It applies the coloured resins on every layer of the 2D carbon material and it is this agent that binds the various carbon layers together while giving the vibrant colours. Similar in construction to other watches of the premium range, these coloured options allow different expressions of the base carbon material, from fiery red to cool blue and technical black, and allows the wearer to maintain their sporty image.

The carbon fiber that makes up the case of this 45mm diameter watch is built around a stainless steel movement container, allowing extreme water resistance to be one of its main features. The EDOX AUTOMATIC CARBON CHRONOGRAPH is rated at 500 meters water resistance and features an automatic helium escape valve which allows the watch to be used in technical dives or extreme water sports.

With the XCAT twin V6 multi-hull boats made from advanced carbon technology and its capability to speed up to 200km/h, the new EDOX AUTOMATIC CARBON CHRONOGRAPH is able to match its speed and technology.

Powered by the Edox Calibre 011 movement based on the Sellita SW500 with 48 hours power reserve, this watch has the ability to change day and date even during midnight. The case back features a see through sapphire glass to showcase the movement that has been specially decorated with pink and black parts and feature the Edox logo on the rotor. 

The watch comes in four (4) colour variants – red, blue, black and black with rose gold stainless steel bezel, and are priced in Malaysia at RM 14,450
