December 2018 Festive Afternoon Tea at Altitude, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

Joanne and I headed over to Altitude, which is located on Level 53 of Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. Altitude is a beautifully designed lounge which offers a calming environment for morning coffee, light lunches, afternoon tea and to enjoy the wine expert’s handpicked wines and craft beers, with a casual menu if you’re feeling peckish.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Altitude, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, which is available from 1 to 31 December 2018 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, is priced at RM98 nett per person which includes premium coffee and tea selections. This festive set differs from the normal afternoon tea set as the patisserie chef has included savoury bites and dainty desserts which one would find during the Christmas season, as well as more red and green colours to reflect the theme.

The afternoon tea menu at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur includes Christmas Spice Tuiles, Orange Coral Crisp, Christmas Duck Bon-Bon, Truffle Mushroom Macaroon, Smoked Eel with Horseradish Mousse Choc, Foie Gras Grissini, Boston Lobster Panna Cotta with Avruga Caviar, Smoked Christmas Turkey Breast Sandwich. Christmas Egg Nogs, Buche de Noel, Strawberry Mousse with Chocolate Jelly, Christmas Mince Pie Macaroon, Vanilla Cup Cake, Assorted Christmas Cookies, Spiced Christmas Walnuts, Classic Scones, and The Fruity Cranberry Scones.

The plush and comfortable sofas are great for catching up with friends, or a romantic date, or even as a venue for meeting clients.

It was quite a gloomy rainy day in Kuala Lumpur however we didn’t really mind as we were in a very nice establishment which seemed to cocoon us from the torrential rain and the infamous KL jam down below.

The floor to ceiling glass windows provided a very panoramic view

The bar with it’s distinct lighting on top added a very avant-garde ambience

Scones with REAL clotted cream (the white blob at the bottom right of the photo) and housemade jam

I actually enjoyed the “stand” which help up the two desserts as it was made of chocolate! In fact, I spent a nice couple of minutes nibbling it bit by bit inter-spaced with sips of coffee! While girls love sweet desserts, I love good chocolate!

The adjacent swimming pool was popular with guests (well especially the fairer sex) taking photos against the backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers

Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur Managed by Banyan Tree – the first hotel property under the Pavilion Group, officially opened on 1 December 2018.
