Ashley and I recently headed over to PJ’s Bar & Grill at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel for the KWV Wines wine pairing dinner.

KWV was founded in 1918, the same year South Africa’s first democratically elected president, Nelson Mandela, was born. Today South Africa is a global player in the world of wine, and KWV a part of the industry, with its many award-winning wines, spirits and liqueurs, showcasing the quality of South Africa’s wine products to the world.

KWV’s strength and competitive advantage is its ability to source grapes from diverse geographic regions, resulting in wines that are consistent, and respected. These grapes are sourced from the most sought-after viticultural regions of South Africa. The grapes are expertly handled and transported to KWV’s cellar facilities in Paarl in the Cape Winelands. The facilities cover approximately 32 hectare, and at the heart, the world-famous Cathedral Cellar, built in 1930.

Cheese Platter

I always love a good cheese platter especially to go along with some wine. We had four (4) different types of cheese – two aged and two young/ soft cheeses! They went beautifully with the red wines!
