[Valentine’s Day Special]
Jessy and I recently headed over to Savini Ristorante Italiano in The Intermark, Kuala Lumpur to try their Valentine’s Day 2018 menu. This classy Italian restaurant is tucked away in a corner of The Intermark, Kuala Lumpur but is easily accessible by going to the DoubleTree by Hilton lobby then taking the escalator up to Level 2. The establishment consists of a fully equipped bar, bar lounge, cigar lounge, three (3) private rooms and a dining hall. It seats 80 pax and the restaurant aims to provide diners a contemporary Italian fine dining experience in an exclusive luxury setting.
The cuisine at Savini is a modern take on classic Italian cuisine using fresh ingredients, while the Valentine’s Day menu has a surf and turf theme to the 5-course menu which is priced at RM220++ per pax, and is available from today until 14 February 2018. The menu comes with ice lemon tea, coffee, tea or chilled juices however I suggest you order some wines from the extensive list of wines from the new world and the old to go along with your meal.
Tartare di Salmone Norvegese con Avocado e Caviale
Norwegian Salmon Tartare and Avocados dressed with Housemade Dill Dressing and topped with Black Caviar
We started off with the salmon tartar with avocado and caviar and we paired it with a nice and refreshing white wine. One thing about Savini is that they put a lot of care and effort into the presentation as well as the taste, making each dish a little masterpiece and very suitable for Instagram posts! The salmon paired with the avocado was rich and delightful while the caviar just added an element of luxury to the dish! A very good start indeed!
Tortellini Con e Funghi Ripieni
Petite Homemade Tortellini filled with Creamy Mushroom and Ricotta Cheese topped with Black Truffle
The tortellinis were just too good! Bite into it and you’ll reach the creamy centre of mushrooms and ricotta cheese!
Sorbet di Lamponi con Mandorle Dolci
Raspberry Sorbet with Almond Tuille
Secondi (A perfect marriage of land and sea) – Choice of
Aragosta Del Bambino Gratino / Filetto Mignon Con e Funghi
Charbroiled Fillet Mignon in your doneness served with Sauteed Mushroom in Port Wine Sauce married to a Aragosta Lobster Gratinated with Herbed Butter and served with Capellini al Pesto
Order your Fillet Mignon medium rare and it will be one of the most juicy and tender steaks you’ll ever eat! The Aragosta lobster though sadly only yield a bite or two of it’s flesh nevertheless it is very tasty! Pair this with a nice glass of full-bodied red wine.
Agnello Rosemarino E Vendure Estive / Salmone Con Risotto Arancione
Lamb Loins served with Autumn vegetables and Rosemary Crème married to a Pan Seared Salmon with Orange Risotto
Remember that lamb can be eaten rare like beef too so don’t order anything above medium if you want a juicy piece of lamb (and not a piece of rubber). The rosemary creme was a pretty good accompaniment to the lamb loin but the surprising element on this dish was the orange risotto which perfectly complemented the salmon!
Velluto Rosso Con Glassa di Formaggio
Red Velvet Cake with Cheese Frosting
This was another very Insta-friendly dish. I’m not really one for red velvet cakes but she wiped her plate of dessert clean! Girls and dessert – some even tell me that they have a separate stomach for desserts. Lol
Savini’s Valentine’s Day 2018 menu is available from now until 14 February 2018, priced at RM220++ per pax. I personally think that this menu is one of the most value for money options this year. Remember to make the most of the outlet’s beautiful interior and snap some pics with/ of your partner there.
BTW Savini is not just a great place to bring your date for that special occasion but is also an ideal venue for both corporate and private parties and events, with its private rooms and AV (Audio Visual) equipment.
