[Review]
My partner in crime headed over to Brolly at Menara Felda, Kuala Lumpur one very wet Friday evening for a nice seafood dinner. Menara Felda is right opposite Marble8 and there’s ample parking inside the building after office hours. However you can also opt to park inside Menara Naza which is also located in Platinum Park which is free after office hours!
Brolly is a casual dining restaurant that offers a combination of nine (9) different brands namely Crab Factory, Ember & Bara BBQ, Raksaksa Mirai (Japanese food), Nove 9 Pizzeria, Moley’s Oyster Bar, My Wing Man, vari.EAT.y, Bang Bang Baller Bar, and Sweet Endings. Fret not as you don’t need to order from different stalls, it’s just that the restaurant’s concept is like a multi stall establishment giving you a tremendous choice of different dishes and cuisines.

We opted to have a seafood sets which is enough for 2 to 3 pax.
Just choose your favourite crab from the selection of:
- XX-Large Flower Crab (±670gm) – RM109.00
- Big Meat Crab (±500gm) – RM175.00
- XX-Large Spanner Crab (±800gm) – RM239.00
- Large King Crab (±800gm) – RM299.00
Then select your sauce and you’re good to go!
The sets come with the crab of your choice, large prawns, New Zealand mussels, yabbies, scallops, baby octopus and Japanese Hamaguri clams. On the side is a medley of accompanying ingredients including corn, chicken sausage, potatoes, french beans and a serving of shallot rice.
We choose the Big Meat Crab coupled with the Mild Spicy sauce to go with it. The ingredients are cooked in the original Louisana boil method which is very very different from our local Malaysian methods of cooking seafood (so please don’t expect kam heong or butter crabs). However the end result is a whole feast of flavourful seafood drenched in sauce and laid out before your eyes!
The table was lined with a clean white paper then the ingredients of the set menu poured out on it. Wow! It was like a mountain of seafood before us! It’s a good thing that we opted for the Milk Spicy sauce because it was pretty spicy.
The seafood was very fresh and soaked up the sauce well making it even more flavourful! The burst of sweetness of the seafood, combined with the spicyness and umaminess of the sauce was really very addictive. Now I am quite a big eater while my partner in crime is somewhat a small eater so I’d say that in total we would be two (2) average eaters. I must say that the portion is really enough for three (3) pax so don’t over order. You can always add on more later if it’s not enough.

We chose the garlic butter sauce to go with the lobster and it really complemented the sweetness of the lobster flesh! The lobster was already cut in half lengthwise so it was easy for us to access the juicy flesh and scoop it out. The claws though did require cracking with the tools but that was half the fun of the meal anyway!

A cocktail of beer and tequila mixed with real fruit purees resulting in some interesting variants including Maracuja, Green Apple, Passion Fruit, Kiwi, Lychee, Yuzu, Peach, and Wild Blueberry. If you’re the purist kind, there’s also the classic version which is beer + classic Margarita.
Bang Bang Baller Bar also has a host of non-alcoholic drinks including soft drinks, coffee, tea, fresh fruit juices, and mocktails. If you prefer alcohol, there are draught beers, imported beers, wines, champagne, whisky, cognac, gin, vodka, tequila and rum.

A dessert from Sweet Endings, the waffle was nice and crispy, and went well with the ice cream and fruits! A good ending to the meal!
If you’re looking for a place with loads and loads of choices on the menu, Brolly at Menara Felda could be the place for you. In the evenings, there’s free parking at Menara Naza which is located next door however if it’s raining you might want to park inside Menara Felda (with a flat rate of RM5.00 in the evenings).
