Maybank (Golf) Championship 2016

This year, Maybank decided not to continue its sponsorship of the Maybank Malaysian Open (which I attended back in 2014 – https://timchew.net/2014/04/21/maybank-malaysian-open-2014-veuve-cliquot-carnival/ and 2015 – https://timchew.net/2015/02/15/maybank-malaysian-open-golf-2015/) and decided to start afresh with the inaugural Maybank Championship with a purse of USD 3 million for the winner!

Once again, the nice folks at Carlsberg Malaysia which was an official partner of the event, hosted me in their hospitality suite at the Royal Selangor Golf Club on 21 February 2016. I quite liked this year’s hospitality suite which was large and hosted all the partners and sponsors and their guests, instead of the small and segregated suites during the previous years. It made it much easier to mingle and network with the big guns from various industries.
