Coach unveiled the company’s next generation retail concept with a private reopening party at its Suria KLCC store on 25 August 2015. The leading New York design house of modern luxury accessories and lifestyle collections, kicked off the night’s festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with celebrity guest, Korean-American sensation Jay Park, Mr. Ian Bickley – President of Coach International Group, Mr. Andrew Stanleick – President of Coach SEA & Oceania and Mr. Andrew Brien – Executive Director & CEO of Suria KLCC.
The new store design was developed by Coach Executive Creative Director Stuart Vevers, in partnership with world-renowned creative firm Studio Sofield, led by Designer and President William Sofield. The concept drawing from a wide range of influences, and places a premium on contrasting textures and luxe materials.
The 1,600 square foot retail space is warm and inviting, reflecting the sophisticated yet playful refinement of New York – reminiscent of the city which the brand calls home. The new store features a mix of custom-designed cabinetry fabricated from natural and ebonized ash, blackened steel, antique bronze and mahogany trim. The store interiors consist of iron spot brick pavers, reclaimed heart-pine wood flooring with custom hand-tufted wool carpeting and statement mid-century furniture punctuating the elegant lines and muted colours.
“We are thrilled to open our modern luxury concept store here at Suria KLCC, one of the most fashionable and iconic shopping malls in Malaysia,” said Stanleick. “I believe the new incarnation of the Coach store that Stuart and William Sofield created will trigger a powerful change in the perception of Coach; it is sophisticated and refined, yet playful and authentic.”
The event saw a variety of guests, including members of the press and socialites and celebrities like Joe Flizzow, Sona One, Joanne Yew, Juliana Evans, Debbie Goh, Nazim Othman, Cristina Suzanne, Jane Chuck and Yumi Wong among others dressed in Coach latest Fall Winter 2015 collection.
The event continued with an after party at Marini’s 57 with a special musical performance by Jay Park.
