[Ramadan Buffet Special]
TEMPTationS Restaurant in Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel has a Buka Puasa Buffet from 18 June to 16 July 2015 keeping the spirit of “silat-ur-rahim”, where you can bond with family and friends over a buffet spread of more than 100 Malaysian favourite dishes plus typical traditional dishes normally enjoyed during the buka puasa.
Expect authentic and popular local dishes like “kerabu” and “sambal” and various types of specially prepared rice such as Nasi minyak, Nasi tomato and Nasi bukhari, an array of “gulai”, and not forgetting the daily roasted whole lamb with percik sauce. Buka puasa favourites include Gado-gado, Rojak buah, Pasembor, an assortment of crackers, pickled fruits and Bubur lambuk will also be available every evening throughout the fasting month.
Among the main dishes are the Daging tulang rawan rendang pedas, Daging Palembang, Udang harimau masak lemak cili padi, otak-otak kuah padang, Kampung style ikan bakar and accompanied by its hot and spicy sauces.
Some of the dishes are prepared fresh for you in the ‘live kitchen’ where you get to select à la minute grilled seafood or chicken and beef satay with peanut sauce. The noodle station offers Laksa Johor, Laksa Penang, Laksa Kelantan or Nyonya Laksa, while the Malaysian stall has Rendang Minang, Gulai kawah or Rendang tok on a rotation basis. There are also a couple of Western, Chinese and Indian dishes available to add to the variety of cuisines on offer.
For dessert, there is a generous spread of Nyonya and Malay kuih such as Seri muka, Kuih kasui, Kuih lapis, Pulut panggang, Pulut inti, Kuih lompang, Kuih keria, Kuih angku, Kuih bakar, Tepung gomak, Cucur badak and Wajik. There is also a selection of Malay cakes and snacks like Bahulu, Dodol, Kuih bangkit, Kuih ros, Murukku, Buah rotan, Rempeyek, Kuih kapit, Kek pisang, Kek lapis and Kek kurma.
There are also Western desserts like cakes, fresh fruits for the more health conscious, and a chocolate fountain for those who have a sweet tooth! You can even make your own ice kacang with a variety of ingredients.
Every evening, there will be two types of Malay bubur served out of a selection of Bubur jagung, Bubur pulut hitam, Bubur kacang merah, Pengat keladi, Pengat pisang, Bubur cha cha, Serawa durian, Serawa pulut nangka, Bubur kacang hijau with durian and Bubur gandum.
I liked the fresh seafood which includes prawns and oysters. Also worth mentioning is the wide variety of curries/ gulai and the roast lamb.
The buffet is priced at RM135.00nett per person and half price for children from 6 to 12 years old. Enjoy the buffet at RM103.00nett per person from 18 to 22 June and 13 to 16 July. The TEMPTationS’ Buka Puasa Buffet is available daily from 6.30pm to 10.30pm daily throughout the month of Ramadan.
TEMPTationS will also be having an Aidilfitri Long Lunch on 17 and 18 July 2015 from 12.30pm to 4.00pm priced at RM122.00nett per person.
