Was honoured to be invited for the preview of the Caterpillar timepieces at Shangri-la Hotel Kuala Lumpur recently. On hand to brief us more about the brand and their timepieces was the Head of Caterpillar Timekeeping Equipment, Mr.Olivier Jeanbouquin.

The brand Caterpillar is mostly synonymous with being the world’s largest maker of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines for over 80 years. The brand achieved that feat by constantly developing innovative and new high technology for its products, and now brings the same principle to Cat timekeeping equipment lifestyle products.

Cat watches are constructed from the highest quality materials, and are developed to meet stringent requirements, without compromises. Each Cat watch encompasses cutting edge design and high functionality to offer a solid performance in a variety of active situations. The brand places great emphasis on the casual and powerful design of the watch and the philosophy behind the Caterpillar brand, resulting in tough, durable yet well designed watches.

The OPERATOR line from Cat® watches pays tribute to the vibrant colours of the season and comes in elegant silver, vibrant black, bright orange, radiant green, lively red, or in the attractive black/yellow combination.

The OPERATOR multi is waterproof up to 10 ATM and houses a precise multifunction movement. The surface of the big round case (48 mm) is comprised of black PVD-coated stainless steel, which creates a nice contrast to the coloured dial and strap details. Beneath the hardened mineral glass is a black/yellow dial with eye-catching Cat logo.

The tri-compax layout contains a day, date and 24 hours function at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock that guarantee just the right amount of functionality. The stylish pushers and the notched crown, big Arabic numerals in yellow and the luminous hour and minute hand are additional highlights of this timepiece. A black nylon strap with protective leather inlays and yellow stitching adds to the sophisticated design.

The OPERATOR watch collection is available in different versions (date or multifunction) with a number of diverse dial colours (black, silver, black/yellow, black/green, black/light green, black/yellow, black/orange, and black/red). Two types of bracelets (black nylon with matching color stitching and stainless steel) are available for added versatility.

T7 is a trendy new collection for people who prefer wearing a refined and distinctive timekeeper. The watch with its 44mm diameter case made from hardened stainless steel, fits with a casual, urban style or pair it with an elegant suit to make it a conversation piece.

The timepiece comes quipped with a mineral crystal glass and powered by a quartz multifunction movement, the T7 is waterproof up to 10 ATM. A special eye-catching feature is the silver-toned dial on different levels that confers the design an interesting depth. The tri-compax layout contains a day, date and 24 hours function while the dial features an Arabic number at the 12 o’clock position and the unmistakable Cat logo just below. There are also bold indexes, yellow details on the outer circlet and integrated pushers on this tough timepiece. The waterproof black silicone strap is very comfortable to wear and versatile enough for outdoor activities.

The T7 line is available as date or multifunction model with various dial colors: black / yellow, black / silver, blue / silver or white / black. High-quality silicone straps in black complete the design character of the collection.
