2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG Petronas F1 Party

Headed over to the 2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG Petronas F1 Party on 28 March 2015 at Symphony Lake Suite, KLCC for an F1 party featuring a fashion show by Zang Toi, Joe Chia, and Bon Zainal, Designer of the Year of the Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand Prix 2014. Symphony Lake Suite is actually a building situated across the Symphony Lake (the lake with the fountain outside Suria KLCC) which serves as a versatile event space for events, launches and parties.

Surprisingly this year was a rather quiet year for F1 in Kuala Lumpur, and there were hardly any F1 parties unlike previous years when a lot of F1 team sponsors would throw their parties. Guess with the worsening economy and the onset of GST a lot of brands were hesitant to spend their marketing budget, or perhaps as F1 has been coming to Malaysia since 1999 perhaps it doesn’t garner so much attention as it did previously.

Well that certainly didn’t stop the 2014 world champions Mercedes-Menz AMG Petronas F1 team in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and STYLO from going all out by throwing a really good party for their customers and invited guests. We got to enjoy lots of delicious food, loads of drinks, good entertainment, and there was even a photo booth with props.

Definitely the F1 party of the year, and if F1 is back in Malaysia next year I certainly hope that Mercedes-Benz will throw another awesome party!

Outside the event venue was a really cool outlined model of an F1 car

Inside there was a model of the car from a previous year — Inside there was a model of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Petronas F1 car which I think is from the 2013 season before the new lower nose regulations were introduced in 2014. Girls just couldn’t keep themselves off it.

Didn’t take any photos of the fashion shows as we were rather far back in the hall mingling with our friends and enjoying the food and drinks. Also as we had already seen the collections by the designers during the previous STYLO nights at The Strand we didn’t quite mind.
