Food Review – Ramadan Buffet @ Cinnamon Coffee House, One World Hotel

Elaine and I headed over to One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya for the media review of the Ramadan Buffet at the Cinnamon Coffee House themed “Aroma Semenanjung” and featuring Malay, Indian, Chinese, Nyonya and Eurasian delicacies as well as some special dishes from Peninsular Malaysia. We were informed that there is a rotation of 6 different menus of over 100 varieties each day in this 420 seater restaurant.

There were appetising starters like Kerabu, Serunding, Acar, Nasi Impit, Ketupat and Lemang, Sup Kambing Berempah, Soto Ayam and Sup Ekor Pedas. For the more health conscious, there’s also a salad bar featuring both Western and local salads.

Main courses include Nasi Pelangi, Daging Gulai Kawah, Ayam Percik, Puyuh Goreng Berempah, Sup Tulang Rawan and Ikan Patin Masak Tempayak while there is the Ramadan buffet staple Bubur Lambuk, as well as specialities like Mee Udang, Sate, Daging Sumor, Rendang Tok Gunung Rapat, Sotong Kalio Batawi, and Sayur Lemak Nangka.

For dessert, look out for the Ais Kacang, Cendol, Serawa Pulut Durian, Pandan Kurma Mousse, Tapai Pulut and assorted puddings, cakes and kuih.

Daily buffet dinner starts from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and priced at RM128.00++ for adults and RM64.00++ for children from 28 June until 27 July 2014.

Pasta Station - choose your pasta, ingredients and sauce and the chefs will cook it for you on the spot! My beef bacon spaghetti carbonara turned out pretty good!

Pulut Serawa Durian - sticky rice with durian! Durian lovers would like this. There was also Pengat Durian with corn which was not bad but I like this better.

Fried Ice cream (bottom left pic) - Oh I so love a good friend ice cream which is crispy on the outside and frozen on the inside! It is made to order at the dessert station to ensure that you'll get a freshly made one!
