The girls and I headed over to Bisou Bake Shop in Bangsar Village 1 for a little exclusive preview of Bisou’s very first skinny cake – Bisou’s Skinny Chocolate!
Bisou’s Skinny Chocolate is light and soft, with a slight marshmallow like texture, yet rich and flavourful. The cake is sandwiched and topped with a Skinny Chocolate Topping that is light and almost pudding like in texture. In order to make a healthier cake, Bisou reduced the sugar and fat, while increasing the flavours like extra cocoa and vanilla, as well as the liquid content, resulting in a cake and its topping are virtually fat free, and is suitable for vegans! Bisou also does not use any artificial sweeteners, margarine, stabilisers or preservatives.
Bisou’s Skinny Chocolate is available everyday at RM11.00 and to celebrate the launch of the Bisou’s Skinny Chocolate, Bisou will be giving away about 400 pieces of full sized squares Bisou Skinny Chocolate for FREE throughout the month of June!
Dates, times and location of giveaways will be announced on Bisou’s Facebook page at
We also took the opportunity to sample some of Bisou’s dishes and beverages. The chicken stew (pictured above) was really comforting and tasty, while the cafe latte was a great accompaniment for the desserts!
The shop in Bangsar Village 1 is located on the first floor right next to Chatime and near the escalator

Visit to Bari Uma (Ramen Noodle House)
The next day, I decided to go over to the new Jaya Shopping Centre after Sunday morning service at my church in Section 13 for some ramen after reading this very tempting post on MHB’s Sharon Loh’s blog –
Above is a pic of my Ajitama-Uma – RM28.00 – ramen with pork flavoured shoyu soup, “Ajitama” (egg with a lovely gooey centre) and a slice of thick-cut flamed chashu (aka char siew). The broth was rich and flavourful and I really loved the chashu. Now as I attended the grand launch of Kirin Ichiban in Malaysia not too long ago (read more at
) and they claimed that it was the perfect accompaniment for food, I decided to put it to the test and yes, it really goes well with food thanks to it not having a strong bitter aftertaste.
Negi-mayo Gyoza – RM12.00 (5 pieces) or RM22.00 (10 pieces)
I liked how the spicy taste hits after the dumpling goes down the throat. These are really addictive and next time I think I will order a plate of 10 pieces.
I was quite impressed with the meal and I will definitely be back for more! One of the better restaurants in the new Jaya Shopping Centre.
