[Event]
Here’s how I celebrated my NYE. As you know, in the last quarter of 2013 I frequently visited The Roof atop First Avenue Bandar Utama, and therefore for NYE it was quite a no-brainer as where I should celebrate the passing of another year and the dawn of a new one.
The night started off with drinks and dinner at Signature by The Hill which is The Roof’s gastro-lounge.

.
In 2013 I was unfortunate to encounter two (2) slanderous attention seekers, people with no courtesy, horrible work ethics, and people who are just downright rude (kurang ajar). Now there’s really no excuse for such bad behaviour no matter if they weren’t brought up properly by their parents, or were influenced by society.
On the flipside, I also had the honour and joy of interacting with people who are polite and respectful, carry themselves professionally, interact with courtesy, have a great working ethic, and friends who are caring who seem to pop up when needed.
I’m not saying that I’m perfect. The fact is that nobody’s perfect. I’m far from it and I have my flaws. But I work to overcome them and I try my best to treat others how I would like to be treated.
Sure it’s not easy to control your emotions/ actions when life throws you a curveball. But life is about choices, you can choose to be a bitch/ jerk and treat others in a nasty manner or with a lack of courtesy.
You can choose to take the easy way out and date a person who buys you with money and a luxury lifestyle, and takes you around in his Porsche/ sports car instead of giving you what really matters in a relationship – his love, time, or effort. (Money can be earned, good character is not so easy to obtain).
You can choose to despair and cry when things don’t go your way.
You can choose to be lazy then moan and grumble of unfairness when others get promoted/ recognised for their work instead of you.
Or you can choose to reach for the stars, be all you can be, and make the most out of the skills and talents that God has given you.
Of course this comes with hard work and there will be difficult choices along the way. Don’t expect free rides or things to be handed to you on a silver platter. Endeavour and fight for your goals and you’ll find satisfaction when you accomplish them with your own hard work.
Treasure the people who are sincere and forthright with you. Treasure those who have principles and morales and good character even though their wallets might not be full.
In 2014, I challenge you to live life to the fullest, interact with courtesy, be respectful to others, work ethically, give generously, and love passionately!
Wishing you all the best in 2014!
