The Hennessy Artistry HALO at MIECC in The Mines on 2 November 2013 was actually my 6th time attending the biggest Hennessy party of the year. Somehow I still remember that Flo Rida performed at the HALO in Bukit Kiara back in 2008 as it was my very first indoor super club experience in Malaysia. I also remember the delicious long drinks that we had, which were different from the ones today but took quite a while to make therefore for more practical reasons and to keep the thirsty crowd happy, Hennessy had to switch to long drinks that were faster to make.

Of course if you’ve been going to Hennessy Artistry for as long as I have, I’m guessing that you have your own favourite Hennessy long drink or even your own recipe by now. My fav is to start off the night with a few glasses of Hennessy Apple + Soda (50% + 50% + Hennessy V.S.O.P.) and then progress to Hennessy Ginger + Soda (50% + 50% + Hennessy V.S.O.P.).

Hennessy Artistry has evolved over the years from a party with over 2,000 guests to a super-club experience with over 4,000 in attendance. However one thing has remained true and that is their motto – “Global Art of Mixing” and through the years there have been some really awesome collaborations between artistes performing at Hennessy Artistry. Anyway back to the 2014 HALO at MIECC. As usual, I checked in to the Mines Resort Hotel right next door to the party venue (as I always believe in partying responsibly) then went for an early dinner before heading over to the party at 8.00pm to see the artistes on the red carpet as well as to meet up with my MHB bloggers.

The party kicked off with a countdown featuring a laser show, LED visuals, and dancers equipped with co2 smoke guns, after which Lapsap kicked off the night with their signature EDM beats. This was followed by my personal favourite artiste of the night – the pretty NS Yoon-G who gave an energetic K-Pop performance with her dancers featuring some of her hits – “If You Love Me”, “Reason To Become A Witch” and “Just Dance”.

British vocal powerhouse Neon Hitch who I thought was like the British version of Gwen Stefani, then built on the momentum and belted out  “Love U Betta”, and two (2) of her newest singles “Some Like It Hot” and “Colours”. Neon and her international touring crew of DJ One Love and Kinetics, then went on to perform their version of “Ass Back Home” originally sung by Gym Class Heroes. Remember how I said that Hennessy always featured collaborations between artistes? Well NS Yoon-G joined Neon and performed unique rendition of “Airplanes” by B.O.B. which sent the crowd nuts! After all what’s better than one hot babe performing? Why two (2) hot babes of course!

The night went on with Popsical taking the stage with a cello and guitar and started off with an instrumental intro to “Let The Love”, which signaled the start of Dmitry KO’s electro house music set featuring Big Roomtunes that were a crossbreed of progressive, pop, classical, and electro beats. The last act of the night – Jochen Miller took to the decks after Dmitry, and delivered a hard EDM set accompanied by laser projections.

Of course a good party needs a beautiful crowd and I bumped into many friends there throughout the night!
