Food Review – Mr. & Ms. Cafe, Oasis Damansara
[Breakfast Cafes]
The latest trend to hit the Klang Valley is the emergence of “breakfast cafes” which serve all-day breakfast. This comes after the bubble tea craze, and all the dessert cafes popping up like mushrooms everywhere. The proliferation of these “breakfast cafes” though is still in the early stages but I don’t expect that to be the case for long.
One bright weekday afternoon, Mei Sze and I headed over to Mr. & Ms. Cafe which is located pretty near our houses for a spot of brunch.
.
The cafe is located in the row of shophouses behind Royal Flush in Oasis Damansara. There is ample parking there on weekends.Mei Sze playing around with the props on the table. Lips for girls, moustache for guys!A hot latte for me (RM8.00) while she had the Just Peppermint tea (RM7.50)Butterscotch Pancakes – RM14.90 – nice fluffy pancakes with berries and bananas and covered with butterscotch! Comfort food!Spicy Baked Eggs with Sausages – RM17.90 – spices, sausages, baked eggs, olives and minted yoghurt served in a little pot accompanied with wholemeal toast. This was pretty nice and I’d like to see the pot smothered in cheese. Think I’ll ask them if they can do that next time I’m there.Very Creamy Mushroom Bruschetta – RM13.90 – sauteed mushrooms in a creamy garlic butter sauce with parmesan cheese. Mei Sze and I both agreed that this was awesome! Then came the first of our desserts – Rose and Lychee Cake – RM9.90 – almond sponge cake with rose cream, lychee jelly and rasberry jelly at the heart of it. Not bad but as I’m not a fan of rose flavour Mei Sze ate most of this one.And then the other dessert arrived – A Chocolate Love-AffairI had finished my latte by now so I ordered a Flat White – RM8.00 to go with the dessertsA Chocolate Love-Affair – RM9.90 – Rich Belgian dark chocolate atop a crunchy hazelnut chocolate base and served with salted caramel popcorn. Not this one is for sharing because it’s so rich. This has got to be my favourite dessert here and I’ve come up with a way of eating it. Take a spoonful of the dessert and pop it into your mouth then take a sip of coffee and let the flavours combine in your mouth. Heavenly! The interior of the cafe. There are also two tables outside for those who want to smoke.
.
Mr. & Ms. Cafe is a decent breakfast cafe that’s conveniently located around my neighbourhood. The place can get pretty full on weekends (from 11.00am to 2.00pm) so if you’re planning to make a visit I’d suggest that you head over earlier in the morning or after lunch.
