Some of you might recall that MHB was hosted earlier this year for a Chinese New Year dinner at The Royal Flush (you can read about that HERE). Well this time round I didn’t want to bring 23 girls along for dinner so I chose to have a nice quiet evening with my partner.
Ok ok you might be wondering…fine dining in a Chinese restaurant? Yes why not? FYI the folks behind The Royal Flush are behind outlets such as Tom, Dick & Harry’s, Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock, and Hoofed and they are never shy to explore new concepts.
Anyway here’s how my night went…
.
The Royal Flush is located at Oasis Square which is an up and coming commercial hub in Ara Damansara which is conveniently just a couple of minutes away from my house/ Bandar Utama/ Tropicana/ Subang Jaya. The entrance. You will notice that a lot of attention has been given to the outlook of the outlet.Chinese Tea and Carlsberg – not much difference in colour! The table setting – love how the teacups have handles though. Always hated lifting a hot teacup with my fingers.Sea Snail With Cordyceps And Dried Scallop Soup – Rm22 / Bowl. Sweet and savoury. A nice warm start to the meal.Champagne Roasted Spare Ribs – Rm12.00 / Slice. HEAVENLY! I loved this. Tender pork ribs coated in a sweet sauce. A must order dish!Buttered Prawns (6 Pieces) – Rm30 – when you’re done with the prawns eat the sauce with the fried man tau buns! The bowl was totally clean by the time we were done with it. Another winner!Fried Vegetables With Scallops – Rm18.00 – I’m not too big a fan of vege but I did like that celery and mushrooms were included to add some different tastes to the dish.Fried Rice In Golden Tofu Pouch – Rm18.00 (the portion pictured above is 1/2 the actual portion because we were getting full so my partner and I decided to share) – kinda reminded me of sushi wrapped in bean curd. This was definitely the most unique manner in which I’ve ever eaten fried rice haha! Not bad!Osmanthus Jelly Cake – RM6.00 / Plate – made from the Osmanthus Flower which is supposed to preserve a woman’s beauty. I quite liked this one though. Not too sweet and there was some texture from the flowers in the jelly. Not sure if I look more beautiful now though…House Red Wine – we ordered these 2 glasses then proceeded up to the rooftopThe rooftop which is quite nice on cooler nights.Oasis Square is really getting a name for having an interesting mix of F&B outlets (including The Royal Flush of course). This is the view from the rooftop.
.
The Royal Flush is a nice place to entertain your clients, bring your family for a special occasion or a good meal on the weekend, or to bring a date for some Chinese food. It’s also good for private dinner as there are private rooms and even a karaoke room on the first floor.
