ADV: Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest at Brussels Beer Cafe 280912
And so this was my third night straight attending Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest, this time at Brussels Beer Cafe at Jaya One in Petaling Jaya on 28 September 2012.
You can read about the first two nights here:
I’ve told you a lot about Oktoberfest in the two posts so lets me tell you a bit about Brussels Beer Cafe instead (yes I know Belgium is not part of Germany but they serve good food which goes great with beer so sush!).
Belgian cuisin is known for being tasty, filling, savory and unpretentiousness with good quality and that’s exactly what you’ll get at Brussels Beer Cafe. Brussels Beer Café serves popular Belgian dishes like the Crispy Roasted Pork Knuckle (which is my fav!), Braised Lamb Shank, Belgium Foot Long Doggies, Moules Mariniere, and Homemade Belgian Waffles with thick chocolate sauce.
Actually it’s heaven for pork lovers as there’s a multitude of pork dishes that you can have while enjoying your ice-cold pint. Try the Blind Finches (or something like that) which are pork meatballs wrapped in bacon and smothered in beer sauce or if you’re in the mood for something a bit closer to home you can opt for the roast pork belly which is essentially siew yoke!
Speaking of pints, the bar at Brussels Beer Cafe serves up a whole variety of chilled beers and they are the only restaurant serving draft Hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe fresh off the tap.
There are four outlets around the Kland Valley located in Ampang, Jaya One, Menara Hap Seng and Solaris Mont Kiara.
We had loads of food with loads of beer and in-between both we danced along to some songs by the authentic German Umpapa band such as Red Horse and the Flier Song which had really cute actions. Then of course we had to do the Chicken Dance as well!
Another good Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest (MOO) party! Come to think of it I’ve celebrated MOO in some really different venues – a Chinese Restaurant, a hotel ballroom, and a Belgian beer cafe! Now if that’s not a Malaysian twist to the famous beer festival then I don’t know what is!
Anyway there were also a string of MOO parties happening elsewhere and here’s a look at some locations outside the Klang Valley.
I Beam in Batu Pahat on 27 September 2012
Over in Kota Kinabalu the party was hopping at Shenanigan’s, Hyatt Regency on 28 September 2012.
