Carlsberg’s EURO 2012 Campaign Launch 070412


Headed over to Sunway Pyramid in a really crazy rainstorm on Saturday 7 April 2012 for Carlsberg’s Launch of their EURO 2012 campaign and to check out the trophy itself which was on display.

The UEFA EURO 2012™ Trophy was displayed in a football stadium replica created by Carlsberg, as football fans patiently queued for a photograph with the trophy. Malaysia is the second and only other country besides India to host the trophy and this is the first time the UEFA EURO trophy has been on Malaysian soil since the European championships began. The UEFA EURO 2012™ trophy is an updated version of the one presented to Spain for winning the UEFA EURO 2008. Named the Henri Delaunay Trophy, it is 18cm higher and 2kg heavier than the original and made of sterling silver.

Then the trophy was unveiled by Carlsberg Malaysia's Managing Director Soren Ravn together with the ambassadors from Poland and Ukraine

Then there was supposed to be a recorded message from Carlsberg’s global football ambassador – Peter Schmeichel from Denmark who is the legendary goalkeeper who played for Manchester United and won the treble in 1999.

But due to the rain they couldn’t play the video…







Then Peter Schmeichel himself comes out much to the surprise of the guests who were present! Woo hoo!!!!!!

There was a dance performance to wrap up the session. Was trying to identify which dancer represented which European country. Can you guess?


In conjunction with the trophy’s short stopover in Malaysia, Carlsberg launched its ‘Are You Fan Enough?’ consumer promotion which will see 100 fans from Malaysia receiving an all-expense paid trip to Ukraine courtesy of Carlsberg. The lucky fans will get to watch the semi-final live at Donetsk, Ukraine. This marks the single largest entourage in Asia to be sent on a chance-of-a-lifetime trip to experience the ‘live’ feel of UEFA EURO 2012™.

Later in the night headed over to Luna Bar to catch up with Rachel

Went to Pavilion on Wednesday,11 April 2012 where Schmeichel was making a tour of a few Carlsberg outlets there to meet his fans.


A huge swarm of fans were at all the outlets to meet their hero!
