‘Let’s Meet Up After Work’ at Al-Amar Express Fahrenheit 88

[Event]

Braved the busy KL traffic to head down just before rush hour with Malaysia’s Hottest Bloggers’ Chelsea and Ashley Mah to attend the exclusive bloggers get-together titled ‘Let’s Meet Up After Work at Al-Amar Express’ organised by fellow blogger Esther (http://youresty.com/). Al-Amar Express is located along the bustling Bintang Walk right outside the entrance of Fahrenheit 88.

Al-Amar Express has a modern and hip design with comfy seats, a wooden floor and expansive glass panels for crowd-watching. The restaurant can accomodate up to 80 guests and has both indoor as well as al-fresco dining areas.

The view from Al-Amar Express at Fahrenheit 88. See the Pavilion sign? Al-Amar Lebanese Restaurant is located to the left of it on Level 6, Pavilion, I must go try one day.

The early birds – Samantha, Chelsea and Ashley Mah

While the girls were outside sipping on their ice-blended margaritas and refreshing mojitos I decided to wander inside and caught the chefs preparing our food!
The menu consists of a combination of Lebanese wraps, healthy sandwiches, shawarmas, salads and Manakeesh (Lebanese pizzas). If you like meat and cheese you will absolutely love it! I certainly did!

.

Al-Amar Express serves mainly authentic Lebanese food such as Hommos, kafta, falafel, haloumi, shawarma, manakeesh and a couple of Western influenced items for those not so accustomed to Lebanese food. Now I have been fortunate enough to taste Lebanese food before and I definitely encourage you to try especially if you like meats and cheese!

Now Lebanon is known as the Paris of the East due to it’s influence from France and yes you will find alcohol in Lebanon as it’s population is a mix of Christians and Muslims.

An ice-cold mojito is perfect to wind down after a long day at work
MHB’s Ashley Mah happy after a couple of mojitos hahaha!
Now this is traditional Lebanese alcohol or ‘arak’ (now I know where the word comes from!). It’s pretty strong, around 50+% alcohol and is mixed with water to make a rather minty drink that reminds me of drinking mentos! Nice!
For you fans of shisha, there’s a huge selection of flavours for you

Many thanks to Esther for inviting us!

Al-Amar Express has some attractive lunch and dinner combos, and is open for breakfast serving an array of Lebanese pastries priced from RM8.00 to 25.00 per dish.

There is also a happy hour promotion from 4.00pm – 8.00pm daily whereby you buy 2 bottles of beer/ cocktails and get another free! What’s more is that Al-Amar Express is open until 5.00am on Friday and Saturday nights so if you want a delicious supper after your clubbing session in town you can opt to head there (instead of siew yoke miin in Jalan Sultan?).
