DoubleTree by Hilton Malaysia will run a two-month dining campaign starting 1 August 2026 in which seven of its Makan Kitchen restaurants will each serve a menu built around the cuisine of a different Malaysian state.

The campaign, called Flavours of Malaysia, runs through 30 September 2026 and involves DoubleTree properties in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Putrajaya, Melaka, Penang and Damai Laut. Each restaurant will serve dishes tied to a state other than its own, so diners in one city can order food associated with a different region without travelling there.

Chefs involved in the campaign drew on childhood memories, hometown traditions and family recipes in building the menus, according to DoubleTree.

Under the campaign, DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru will serve dishes representing Penang, including Penang char kway teow with duck egg and Nyonya durian bubur cha-cha, as part of its weekday dinner buffet, running Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pricing is RM128 nett per adult, RM88 nett for senior citizens and RM64 nett per child.

DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur will showcase dishes representing its own home city, including Imperial Lotus Braised Duck Encased in Clay and thin rice noodles with tea-smoked sustainable seabass in a sweet sesame sauce. The hotel will offer a high tea buffet on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., priced at RM118 nett per adult and RM59 nett per child, along with a dinner buffet on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., priced at RM168 nett per adult and RM84 nett per child.

DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City will serve dishes representing Sarawak, including tempra prawns with bean curd chap chye and sea grapes, along with kerabu chicken with buah keluak purée, compressed watermelon skin and Sarawak pepper. Its high tea buffet runs Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child, and its dinner buffet runs Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at RM138 nett per adult and RM69 nett per child.

DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside will represent Negeri Sembilan with dishes including lompap lamb short ribs and kuih sopang. Its high tea buffet runs Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at RM128 nett per adult and RM64 nett per child, while its dinner buffet runs Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at RM138 nett per adult and RM69 nett per child.

DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka will represent its home state with free-range ayam Kapitan and onde-onde bersama inang inang, served every Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at RM138 nett per adult and RM69 for children under 12.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang will represent Kedah, with dishes including gulai daging rias pisang and kerabu pucuk paku with cockle meat and bean sprouts, served every Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at RM138 nett per adult, RM98 nett for senior citizens and RM69 nett for children under 12.

DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort will represent Perak, with dishes including ayam masak tuha and paisan iwak jenahak, served every Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at RM128 per adult and RM64 per child.

DoubleTree said participating restaurants will offer a “buy four, get one free” promotion during the campaign, with the exception of DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort. Hilton Honors members at the Base and Silver tiers will receive 10% off food and beverages, while Gold and Diamond members will receive up to 25% off, the company said.

“At DoubleTree by Hilton, we believe great hospitality begins by bringing people together, and food has always been at the heart of those connections. Flavours of Malaysia celebrates not only the incredible diversity of Malaysian cuisine, but also the stories and traditions behind every dish. By bringing regional flavours from across the country into our Makan Kitchen restaurants, we hope to inspire guests to discover, reconnect with and take pride in the rich culinary heritage that makes Malaysia so unique.”

Reservations and further details for each property are available directly through the individual hotels.

For diners in Malaysia, the campaign offers a practical way to try dishes associated with states they may not otherwise visit, without the cost or time of travelling there. A resident of Shah Alam, for instance, can order Sarawak-style dishes locally rather than booking a trip to East Malaysia, and a diner in Johor Bahru can try Penang-style char kway teow without leaving the state. For families or groups weighing where to eat out over the next two months, the campaign adds a rotating set of options across seven cities that differs from each hotel’s usual offerings.

The pricing detailed by DoubleTree gives consumers a clear basis for comparison before booking. Buffet prices across the participating hotels range from about RM118 to RM168 per adult depending on the property and meal period, with separate, lower rates listed for children and, at some hotels, senior citizens. Because the rates and schedules vary by hotel — some running weekday dinners, others limited to a single day such as Friday or Saturday — diners planning a visit may want to confirm the specific day, time and price for the hotel and menu they’re interested in before making a reservation, since not all locations follow the same buffet format.

The discounts and promotions tied to Hilton Honors membership are also worth noting for frequent travellers or diners who already hold Hilton loyalty status. The tiered discounts, up to 25% off for Gold and Diamond members, along with the buy-four-get-one-free offer at most participating restaurants, provide diners with even more value.
