Zeekr Malaysia Makes KLIMS 2026 Debut with Two Ultra-Luxury Models and Charging Network Expansion

Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia (Zeekr Malaysia) made its first appearance at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026), using the platform to preview two new ultra-luxury models — the Zeekr 009 Grand and Zeekr 9X — open bookings for both and announce a broader expansion of its ownership and charging ecosystem across Malaysia.

The KLIMS 2026 debut comes 18 months after Zeekr first entered Malaysia in December 2024. The brand reported cumulative sales of more than 4,000 units as of May 2026, based on JPJ registration data, positioning it as what it describes as the No. 1 premium EV brand in Malaysia by that metric.

“Since launching Zeekr in Malaysia, our journey has been remarkable. In less than two years, we have grown to become the No. 1 Premium EV Brand in Malaysia, and this achievement belongs to our customers. As we continue to expand our presence, our focus remains on delivering not only exceptional vehicles, but also a complete premium ownership experience built around convenience, confidence, and peace of mind.”

Zeekr 009 Grand

The Zeekr 009 Grand is a four-seater ultra-luxury MPV built around the rear passenger experience. Second-row executive seats offer hot stone therapy with 20-point massage functionality. A 43-inch MiniLED display is paired with a 31-speaker surround sound system. An 18-litre refrigerator, natural marble trim sourced from the Himalayas and transparent crystal button components define the cabin’s material specification.

Privacy provisions include electronically dimmable glass for the sliding doors and rear quarter windows, a driver-passenger smart curtain partition with switchable opacity and a password-protected dual-electronic safe. Externally, the 009 Grand rides on 20-inch floating forged wheels and features a gloss-black DARK BADGE front grille. Pricing for the 009 Grand starts from RM600,000, with bookings now open.

Zeekr 9X

The Zeekr 9X is a high-performance luxury SUV built on Zeekr’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA-S) platform with a 900V electrical architecture. Its SEA Super Hybrid system produces up to 1,030 kW, with a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3.1 seconds and a combined range of 1,250 km on the CLTC test cycle — a Chinese laboratory standard that typically returns more optimistic figures than real-world driving conditions. Ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% is rated at 8.5 minutes.

The 9X’s SEA AI Digital Chassis incorporates advanced air suspension, active roll control and smart drive modes, designed to balance highway ride comfort with stability on uneven terrain. Safety credentials include a claimed pass of the world’s first four-way crash test conducted at 105 km/h, with additional active systems covering crosswind control, side-impact lift and automatic obstacle avoidance.

Inside, the three-row cabin features Cloud Lounge seating, a 17-inch 3K OLED centre screen and a 3,800W Naim audio system. Pricing for the 9X starts from RM800,000, with bookings now open.

Alongside the model previews, Zeekr Malaysia announced the introduction of Zeekr Power, a dedicated charging network being developed with third-party charging partners. The brand’s first flagship Zeekr Power station will open at XPark Sunway Serene, offering ultra-fast charging at up to 480 kW DC.

Zeekr Malaysia has also signed an MOU with DC Handal to develop seven charging stations in the first phase, covering 14 bays at up to 400 kW, located primarily along the North-South Expressway and at Sunway Pyramid. The brand’s target is to establish 20 Zeekr Power stations nationwide over the next three years, with preferential charging rates for Zeekr vehicle owners across the network.

Zeekr Malaysia currently operates eight outlets spanning the Klang Valley, Melaka, Penang, Johor and Ipoh. The brand is targeting 18 outlets nationwide by the end of 2026, including its first presence in Sabah and Sarawak, alongside 12 service centres supported by improved parts availability.

Both the Zeekr 009 Grand and Zeekr 9X are on display at KLIMS 2026 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, until 21 June 2026 (Hall 7, Level 2, Booth 6B02-C).

The Zeekr 009 Grand and 9X occupy a different tier from virtually everything else on the Malaysian EV market — at RM600,000 and RM800,000 respectively, their buyer profiles are narrow and defined more by the desire for an ultra-luxury cabin experience than by the EV ownership proposition alone. For the 009 Grand, the direct competitive set is the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Toyota Vellfire and, at higher price points, the Lexus LM — though the 009 Grand’s specification, particularly the 43-inch display, hot stone therapy seating and Himalayan marble trim, places it in genuinely different territory from any of those alternatives. At this price, the quality and character of the rear cabin is the product, and the 009 Grand makes its case on that basis.

The 9X’s performance figures — 3.1 seconds to 100 km/h and 1,030 kW peak output — invite inevitable comparison with established performance SUV benchmarks from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-AMG, at pricing that is competitive within that context. Prospective buyers should note, however, that the 1,250 km range figure is derived from CLTC testing rather than WLTP or real-world conditions, and should be interpreted accordingly.

The more broadly significant announcement from Zeekr’s KLIMS debut may be the Zeekr Power charging network. An owned or partner-managed fast-charging network along the North-South Expressway directly addresses the most commonly cited range anxiety concern among Malaysian long-distance EV users. At 400 kW charging speeds along highway corridors, the practical ownership case for Zeekr vehicles on intercity journeys strengthens considerably — and positions the brand for a wider buyer conversation beyond the ultra-luxury tier as its more accessible models continue to build traction in the market.
