Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Unveils the New Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé Nightfall Edition

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently introduced the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé Nightfall Edition, a special edition variant of its locally assembled performance SUV coupé, priced at RM518,888 on-the-road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia. The Nightfall Edition carries a RM20,000 premium over the standard GLC 43 Coupé and is the second model in the brand’s Nightfall Edition series in Malaysia, following the earlier GLA Nightfall Edition.

The launch coincides with Mercedes-Benz’s global commemoration of 140 years since the invention of the automobile by Carl Benz, marked by an international “140 Years. 140 Places” journey spanning six continents.

“The introduction of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé Nightfall Edition reflects our strategic focus on continuously expanding our product offering to meet the diverse expectations of our customers. This latest addition allows us to respond to those needs with greater precision, bringing together dynamic design, enhanced specification, and the performance character of AMG in an even sportier form.”

Martin Schulz, CEO & President, Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia & Head of Region, Mercedes-Benz Cars Southeast Asia

“With the Nightfall Edition, we bring an expressive layer to the Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupé experience through a seamless blend of design and driving emotion. From the exclusive AMG Night Package Exterior II to AMG Real Performance Sound, every detail is designed to enrich engagement behind the wheel and deliver a distinctive ownership experience for customers who value both individuality and performance.”

Nadia Trimmel, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia

The defining addition of the Nightfall Edition is the AMG Night Package Exterior II, which layers darkened detailing over the standard AMG Night Package already fitted to the GLC 43 Coupé. Dark chrome accents extend across the radiator grille slats, model designation badges on the front fenders and rear, and the rear Mercedes-Benz star — creating a more restrained and visually cohesive exterior that departs from the brighter chrome detailing of the standard model. An AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome with AMG lettering and black accents, and an AMG spoiler lip complete the exterior additions specific to this edition.

Additional equipment on the Nightfall Edition includes DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, 21-inch AMG Y-spoke light-alloy wheels, silver-painted brake callipers and a panoramic sliding sunroof — specifications that go beyond the cosmetic darkening package and add genuine functional and visual substance to the RM20,000 premium.

The Nightfall Edition retains the powertrain of the standard GLC 43 Coupé without modification. The handcrafted 2.0-litre AMG turbocharged four-cylinder engine — assembled under AMG’s “One Man, One Engine” philosophy in Affalterbach — produces 421 PS and 500 Nm of torque, supplemented by a 48-volt mild hybrid system with a belt-driven starter generator contributing an additional 14 PS during acceleration. Drive is delivered to all four wheels via a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and an AMG Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic transmission. The 0-100 km/h sprint is rated at 4.5 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Supporting the performance hardware are AMG Ride Control adaptive damping with Comfort and Sport modes, and rear-axle steering that adjusts the rear wheels’ angle at low and high speeds to improve both urban manoeuvrability and high-speed stability.

Inside, the Nightfall Edition’s cabin is fitted with AMG sports seats in ARTICO man-made leather, an AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather, carbon-fibre trim elements and ambient lighting with illuminated AMG door sills. The infotainment system is anchored by an 11.9-inch portrait MBUX touchscreen with AMG-specific display layouts and MBUX augmented reality navigation. A Burmester 3D surround sound system is fitted as standard.

The AMG Real Performance Sound system is a Nightfall Edition highlight, allowing drivers to adjust the vehicle’s acoustic character between Balanced and Powerful modes via the touchscreen — augmenting the engine’s natural sound through the cabin speakers for a more deliberate driving experience. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported wirelessly.

The Nightfall Edition is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s Driving Assistant Package as standard, comprising autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-go functionality, lane-centring assist and a blind-spot monitor. Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, a 360-degree camera system, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and a head-up display round out the safety and convenience suite.

At RM518,888 on-the-road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia, the Nightfall Edition is available under Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Agility+ financing plan from RM6,688 per month. The Agility+ programme includes a guaranteed future value component, flexible end-of-term options and the MobilityPlus replacement vehicle programme during the ownership period.

For buyers considering the GLC 43 Coupé, the Nightfall Edition presents a straightforward value question: what does the RM20,000 premium buy beyond the darkened exterior detailing? The answer is more substantive than a special edition designation alone might suggest. DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, 21-inch wheels, silver-painted brake callipers and the Burmester 3D audio system represent genuine additions to the specification rather than cosmetic changes alone. The AMG Real Performance Sound system is either a meaningful feature or an unnecessary one depending on the buyer’s relationship with the car’s acoustic character — for buyers who find that distinction important, having it on a switchable, adjustable basis is preferable to it being fixed. The Agility+ financing structure, with its guaranteed future value provision, also provides a degree of residual value certainty that outright purchase does not — a consideration that carries more weight as the luxury SUV market becomes more competitive.
