Sunday BBQ Brunch at Havana Bar & Grill

We recently made a rare foray down to Changkat Bukit Bintang in downtown Kuala Lumpur to try the Sunday BBQ Brunch at Havana Bar & Grill. The popular Kuala Lumpur bar seeks to offer a distinctive dining experience that combines the pleasures of a classic summer BBQ with a laid-back ambience and the cuisine and wine of brunch in a comfortable courtyard setting. The bar places a strong emphasis on establishing a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where friends and family may congregate on lazy Sunday afternoons to partake in delectable fare, refreshing drinks, and quality time together.

Havana Bar & Grill’s management mentioned that they use the freshest prime ingredients and culinary expertise to incorporate a variety of flavours and cooking methods, from slow-smoked meats to grilled vegetables, along with a variety of enticing sides, sauces, and condiments. The idea behind it is to have a leisurely dinner while relishing in the smokey flavours and fragrances of a typical barbeque.

Head Chef Arnold Miranda’s inspiration for the Sunday BBQ Brunch is derived from a Cuban-styled outdoor brunch and enriched with a balance of British cuisine. He frequently follows culinary trends as a chef in order to develop promotions that go along with the most common tastes in food. Fusion cuisine, Mediterranean-inspired dishes, plant-based or vegan alternatives, fusion food, unusual flavour combinations, or international culinary influences could all be part of this trend.

Chef Arnold strives for a perfect blend of flavours and textures, preserving the essence of classic Cuban cuisine while enriching it with local ingredients and experimenting with diverse combinations. Havana’s Courtyard-Barbeque emphasizes on fresh produce, carefully handpicked ingredients, 24 hours marination. He also reiterated that 98% of everything at Havana Bar & Grill is housemade and cooked ala minute.

Highlights of the brunch include the use of real wood charcoal on the grill, fresh prime meat cuts, in-house produced sausages using the freshest ingredients, traditional British Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding and traditional Scotch Eggs

There’s also a pool table in a corner that’s pretty popular among patrons!

The buffet includes free-flow buffet and a 750ml 1 bottle of La Vieille Ferme wine for the price of RM238+. However, for a limited time, Havana Bar & Grill is offering the 1st 20 patrons each Sunday the special promotional price of only RM198+ for the Buffet & Wine package.

We also got a tour of the Ché Lounge and VIP Bar on the 1st floor. The recently renovated Che’ VIP bar upstairs showcases a bar and a second balcony, and is available for private parties and VIP guests with a large selection of exclusive premium gins, whiskeys, and rums. The 1st floor is open from 8pm to 3:00am Fridays and Saturdays.
