Samsung Malaysia recently debuted the new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G at a launch event at Lalaport, Kuala Lumpur. The new phones come with Quick Share, Modes & Routines, Link to Windows, Samsung Wallet, (what Samsung claims is) best-in-class Night Photography and AI Enhanced Camera to capture vivid photos with greater detail under low lighting conditions, as well as steady, crisp videos even on the move.
Samsung Malaysia took the media and some lucky guests for a spin with the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G at Korea’s No.1 indoor quad roller-skating rink, RollerWa, LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre.

The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G were designed to deliver images with clear quality even in bright conditions, making use of Samsung Galaxy’s Nightography and AI capabilities. The Galaxy A54 5G provides better detail for selfies or video calls with its 32MP front camera, while the A34 gets a 13MP front camera.
The new smartphones were also designed to produce video with better clarity, combatting shakiness and blur with improved optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS), while the Night mode helps users to capture more detail by broadening the camera’s pixel size.
Users can also now remove unwanted shadows and reflections for the first time in the Galaxy A series, thanks to the enhanced editing tools.
Both devices feature Super AMOLED displays, 6.4-inch on the Galaxy A54 5G, while somewhat surprisingly the Galaxy A34 comes with a larger 6.6-inch screen. Both displays have been upgraded for better outdoor visibility, even under bright sunlight with the enhanced Vision Booster and an upgraded 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung Galaxy phones are renowned for their security with Samsung Knox that keeps data securely with defense-grade mobile security. The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G give users access to the Security and Privacy Dashboard, which makes it easy to see how apps are tracking data and enables simple ways to stop unwanted data collection. Users can share important files that contain sensitive or personal information with Private Share that enables users to share files only to designated receivers within time limits and with screenshots disabled.
The newest Galaxy A Series models offer up to 5 years of security updates, 4 times Android OS updates and a 2-year warranty to maximise the smartphone’s lifecycle.

[Update]

So I managed to get my hands on a Galaxy A34 and here are my first impressions of it.
Such a slim box can only mean one thing – no charger included again just like the Galaxy A33 (53 and 73) from last year No casing either therefore one of your first stops should be a Samsung store to purchase a casing and also a charger if you don’t have a compatible 25W fast charging one The back looks very neat and clean with an attractive youthful colour so using a clear casing would certainly show it off The cameras, volume rocker and power button have a premium look and the phone feels solid (albeit a little slippery) in the hand, which is quite surprising for a phone at this price point! Turning it on and setting it up was fast and easy I’m a big fan of rounded corners as it just feels better in my pocket. For girls that put their phones in their handbags, this wouldn’t be an issue. The phone supports 25W fast charging through a USB Type C port The 13MP F2.2 front camera comes in a teardrop shape You also get a USB Type C to USB Type C cable in the box
I’ll be bringing it around with me to field test the phone’s camera so stay tuned for part two (2)!
