BMW Malaysia Launches the New BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence

BMW Malaysia introduced the New BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence to the Malaysian market on 17 March 2023. The vehicle which is named “The President” by BMW now comes with more enhanced digitalisation capabilities and sophisticated design.

“Luxury has always been progressive for us at the BMW Group, and with every turn of the tide, we refine and redefine the meaning of luxury across our most sophisticated portfolio. The New BMW X7 is testament to this, arriving as an exemplification of progressive luxury – one that offers pure performance, aesthetics and driving excellence.”

Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia

The new split headlamp front design, which reflects BMW’s new luxury class design language, gives the New BMW X7 a noticeably more polished appearance. Significantly, the inside has been updated to offer improved connectivity, as well as a broad selection of digital services and assistance systems, thanks to the BMW Curved Display and Operating System 8. The new 48-Volt mild hybrid petrol engine enhances the driving experience while the six-seater layout with individual captain chairs in the second row maximises passenger comfort.

The New BMW X7, which comes with the Pure Excellence package, stands out from its predecessors thanks to its streamlined frontal design, which has split dual LED headlights with separate units providing daytime running lights and indicators at the top. The front apron also has a fresh style, with two striking chrome pieces acting as frames for its central air intake and dramatically sculpted surfaces containing a new double-slat kidney grille design.

The New BMW X7’s side profile is characterised by low overhangs, a long wheelbase, and elongated lines. Roof rails, an exterior line made in satinated aluminium, and stylish light alloy wheels flank the luxury SAV round off the design.

The New BMW X7’s three-dimensional taillights have totally new internal graphical layouts in the back, including a new location for the reversing lights. The glass-covered chrome strip linking the two taillights is another brand-new addition that emphasises the premium SAV’s breadth even more. The New BMW X7 also has a superior vantage point thanks to the high ground clearance.

A 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen Control Display are included with the BMW Curved Display, which provides the New BMW X7’s interior an upscale, more modern cockpit feel. Air vents are subtly incorporated into the instrument panel, which is noticeably lower. Sophisticated chrome accents surround the outer air vents. The “Lindenwood Fineline” exquisite wood trim, sport leather steering wheel, and M Headliner “Alcantara” anthracite all add to the luxury SAV’s premium ambiance.

Another eye-catching feature of the New BMW X7 is the Ambient Light Strip that is located below the inside trim finisher. With its crystalline appearance and prismatic structure, it produces a unique illusion of spatial depth and is backlit. The Welcome Light Carpet for the left and right entry sections is a standard component of the Ambient Light. The Ambient Light Strip, which displays “X7” on the passenger side, is wonderfully complemented by the Crafted Clarity trim, which has handcrafted pieces made of cut crystal glass.

A roomy six-seater layout with two plush individual seats in the second row is now now available with the New BMW X7. In keeping with the BMW Group’s environmental goals, seats now come standard with new Sensafin upholstery and decorative stitching. The expansive glass top also makes the room feel lighter and more airy. The New BMW X7 has a boot that can hold up to 750 litres of cargo when the third row of seats is folded down.

The New BMW X7 is available with a petrol engine mated to xDrive all-wheel drive and an 8-Speed Steptronic Sport gearbox. For even greater economy and performance, the premium SAV also has innovative mild-hybrid technology with a 48-Volt starting generator. With a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), the in-line six mild hybrid engine produces 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 540 Nm of torque. Due to this, the premium SAV can complete the century sprint in 5.8 seconds as opposed to 6.1 seconds for its predecessor.

A double-wishbone front axle, a five-link rear axle, and a two-axle air suspension with automated level adjustment are also standard on the New BMW X7. This idea provides a remarkable range of driving characteristics, from exceptional ride comfort to the kind of dynamic handling brand customers have come to anticipate. Moreover, by including rear-wheel steering, the Integral Active Steering guarantees optimal manoeuvrability at low speeds and exceptionally nimble handling in the middle speed range. The Executive Drive Pro offers a smooth, balanced ride that enhances the SAV’s comfortable interior.

The New BMW X7 features the BMW Live Cockpit Plus, which incorporates a completely customizable Information Display and touchscreen Control Display. The New BMW X7 is now outfitted with the most recent BMW Operating System 8, which serves as the basis for comprehensive connectivity and is an integral part of the cockpit interface. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel, the BMW iDrive Controller, as well as touchscreen and gesture control, are just a few of the ways that vehicle systems may be operated. The BMW Head-Up Display, which presents critical information pertinent to the driver, is also a standard component of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional.

The Parking Assistant Professional and Driving Assistant are just two of the many cutting-edge driver assistance technologies that come standard on the New BMW X7. An automatic parking manoeuvre can be started using the Parking Assistant Professional, a camera and ultrasound-based assistance system. The Reversing Assistant Professional is also included, and it keeps track of the past 200 metres travelled.

The Driving Assistant comprises of features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning with active steering interventions, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear Collision Prevention with exit warning, Speed Limit Info and manual Speed Limit Assist.

The New BMW X7 is available in Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic, Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, and Black Sapphire Metallic, while the new Sensafin upholstery is available in Sensafin Black and Sensafin Cognac.
