BMW Malaysia Unveils the Newly Enhanced BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition
BMW Malaysia announced several enhancements for the BMW M850i xDrive Coupé on 14 September 2022. The coupe was first introduced in Malaysia back in 2018. The New BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition now sports a distinctive, new front profile and has undergone a number of sporty design upgrades to both the exterior and interior, in addition to adding more standard features.
The new BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition has been outfitted with M external mirrors and the distinctive M logo on the kidney grille as standard, thanks to the standard inclusion of the M Performance package. The kidney grille’s “Iconic Glow” lighting element with LED modules provide a waterfall-like illumination that flows down the grille slats. The 20-inch double-spoke style M light alloy wheels in 895 M Bicolor with performance and staggered tyres, as well as the M Sport brakes in high-gloss black, add to the New BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition’s sporty appearance from the side. The M Lights Shadowline and M high-gloss Shadowline with extended contents further the New BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition’s distinctive character.
The New BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition’s interior comes with a larger, higher-resolution control display that is now 12.3 inches in size. The front passenger and driver’s seats are now M Sport seats as standard. In addition, the cabin is decorated with Carbon Fibre M inside trim finishers, and the doors have electroplated controls. The automatic air conditioning with 2-zone control provides a higher level of comfort and ambiance, while the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system is standard for onboard entertainment. The alarm system also increases vehicle security.
The new BMW M850i xDrive Coupé MY Edition is available in BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey Metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic. Interior upholstery features BMW Individual Extended Leather Trim “Merino”, with colour offerings of Black, Cognac, Ivory White, Night Blue, Tartufo and Fiona Red.

BMW Group Malaysia and the M Owners Malaysia community celebrated the 59th Malaysia Day this year with a unique gathering of over 120 powerful BMW M cars from all generations, further igniting the passion for BMW M among the local community of owners, racing enthusiasts, and fans.
“This year, as we commemorate five decades of rich history as one team with a united passion for BMW M; let us not forget the unity of Malaysians as one nation who are also celebrating 59 years of national identity. It is a true delight to witness this passion that Malaysians have for the brand in full strength, demonstrating not only their pride and love for our motorsport division but for Malaysia on such a significant day as well. We hope that the Most Powerful Letter in the World will continue to resonate with the diverse yet close-knit BMW M community here.”

BMW Group Malaysia also presented prizes to the winners of the nationwide search for the oldest BMW M cars from each model series in Malaysia as part of the /M for Malaysia Day celebrations. The nationwide search was held in May 2022 in connection with 50 Jahre M. Three of the six winning BMW M cars were put on display for the public to see at the Malaysia Day event.

- Harris Mah Kar Keat – 1988 BMW M3 (E30)
- Lim Shin Tom – 1991 BMW M5
- Gan Kian Yeh – 2006 BMW M6 (E63)

- Tee Yee Jiuh – 2017 BMW M2
