Following the successful introduction of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class earlier in the year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the new locally assembled C-Class on 23 August 2022. The C-Class, which is assembled at the brand’s production plant in Pekan, Pahang, continues to represent a more efficient and digital world, and a comfortable future in an era of global change.
In Malaysia, the C-Class is the best-selling Mercedes-Benz model series in the recent decade. With its athletic design and class-leading and unique interior amenities, the new C-Class redefines its segment in several ways: rear comfort, interior ambience, and high-quality craftsmanship.
“The C-Class has been our bestselling model to date. Since its introduction as the 190, over 10.5 million Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been delivered globally and we are confident this new localized C-Class will be well-accepted by our customers. As part of our continuous commitment to the local market in the luxury automotive sector, the C-Class which debuted earlier this year, is now proudly assembled in our production facility, in Pekan and will further cater to the individual requirements of our esteemed customers. We are excited and confident to continue the success story of our bestselling model in Malaysia.”
Sagree Sardien, CEO & President, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia

The combination of the C-low Class’s front overhang, long wheelbase, and rear overhang has modernised the vehicle all around and complemented it with sporty design cues. Highlights from the new S-Class are incorporated into the interior, providing it an opulent feel.
The radiator grille, a defining feature of the brand, dominates the front. Each model has a central star, however the radiator grilles’ appearance and character vary slightly depending on the model. The exterior of the C 200 has an Avantgarde line design. Highlights include the sophisticated trim strips in high-sheen aluminium and chrome, the radiator grille design with the centre Mercedes star, the lowered comfort suspension, and the 18-inch 5-spoke wheels.
The distinguishing feature of the C 300 with AMG Line exterior is the Mercedes-Benz pattern grille with the star design in chrome. The AMG Line’s expressive body style, along with 19-inch AMG multi spoke wheels, gives the outside of the C-Class a sporty, exclusive feel. The panoramic sunroof and LED High Performance headlights with Adaptive High Beam Assist are further notable exterior features.
The rear end is typical of a Mercedes-Benz sedan. The tail lamps’ high-quality design captivates with a distinctive day and night look. In the C-Class, the lamps have a two-piece design for the first time, with the light functions separated between the side wall and boot lid lamps. Their carefully designed interiors also demonstrate a high level of detail with the silver grey diamond-pattern trim.
“Our customers have always loved the C-Class, because it has always been top with regard to comfort and technology as well as to spaciousness and design. These two new additions to our local production line are testament of our commitment to further expand our local foothold and increased investment in the local automotive sector. The C-Class is truly one-of-a-kind.”
Michael Jopp, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia

The new C-Class takes the flagship S Class’s innovation to the sport sedan class. The dashboard and central display are six degrees slanted towards the driver, adding to the sportiness. Its high-resolution 12.3″ free-standing driver display distinguishes it from typical cockpits with traditional round dials.
The touchscreen appears to hover above the trim expanse. The screen, like the dashboard, is slightly angled towards the driver. A high-quality chrome inlay divides the centre console into a padded back piece for the armrest and a shiny jet black front section. This three-dimensional surface allows the seemingly free-floating core display to rise smoothly and elegantly.
The vehicle has the most recent iteration MBUX (NTG 7) with MBUX Navigation Premium. A high-resolution LCD panel is located in the driver’s area. It is free-standing and appears to float in front of the wing profile and trim expanse. This distinguishes the driver display from typical cockpits with round dials.
The main touchscreen display is 11.9 inches and is angled slightly in the direction of the driver while the driver display is 12.3 inches. The dashboard is divided into two sections: an upper and lower section with wing-like vents reminiscent of aviation engine nacelles, and an extravagant expanse of trim. Other cabin highlights include the fingerprint scanner, front wireless charging, premium ambient lighting and smartphone integration package.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is now available as a CKD unit in two variants: C 200 Avantgarde Line, and the C 300 AMG Line at RM 287,888 and RM327,888 respectively, inclusive of 10% Sales Tax (for Peninsular Malaysia).
