Celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival 2022 at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur
To celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur unveiled this year’s homemade rice dumplings presented in a luxurious custom-designed packaging box perfect for gifting, available for delivery and takeaway from now until 3 June 2022.
Shang Palace Chinese Executive Chef Terrence and the team have prepared a selection of sweet and savoury rice dumplings with a twist featuring a variety of nourishing Chinese ingredients, wholesome grains, and luxurious fillings that incorporate Asian and Western delicacies. There are six (6) flavours to savour, with each rice dumpling having a nett weight of 130g.
The rice dumplings are available for mix and match in packs of four (4) and are packaged individually in a Shang Palace gift box. The Pad Kra Pao Mou Flavoured Rice Dumpling, Yunnan Mushroom Rice Dumpling, and Sweetened Purple Rice with Vanilla Custard Dumpling are priced at RM36 per piece. The Fujian Rice Dumpling is priced at RM70 per piece, while the XO Sauce, Foie Grass and Roasted Chicken Rice Dumpling is priced at RM79 per piece.

Gift Box Sets
You can also have all six singular rice dumplings in one set, in the Heritage of Asia Gift box set which is priced at RM 279 per box. It comes with one piece of each of the six rice dumplings packed in a beautifully adorned bright red box that’s suitable for gifting.
The Shang Palace Signature gift set is an exclusive Hong Kong style rice dumpling with abalone, assorted meat such as smoked duck and roasted chicken, premium Conpoy scallops and premium dried shrimps, mushrooms, nuts and salted egg yolk. It has a nett weight of 600g, and is priced at RM128 per box.
The Master Chef Series gift set is a taste of luxury, presented in a specially designed box with oriental motifs reminiscent of the cultural history of the festival. It also includes the traditional Rattle Drum as a keepsake for the occasion. The Chef’s Master box is priced at RM410 each, and consists of four (4) flavours of rice dumplings with premium fillings each with a nett weight of 90g:

- Aged Mandarin and Abalone Rice Dumpling
- Abalone and Sea Cucumber Rice Dumpling
- French Riz Au Lait Rice Dumpling is a special fusion twist of traditional dumpling made from dried apricot, orange juice, Macadamia nuts, infused with Havana Club Rum
Led by Executive Sous Chef Chew Tai Beh, the culinary team created a limited-edition dumplings for children. The Pinata-inspired dumpling is a true likeness to a steamed rice dumpling, and contains pure 100% hand-crafted rich bittersweet Belgian Chocolate, filled with M&M, Jelly Bean and decadent chocolate pralines.
“It is meticulously crafted, that you will not believe it is made from real chocolate. You will need to smell, touch or break it to believe it,” said Yusuf Yaran, Executive Director of Food & Beverage Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.
The Kids dumpling gift set weights 550g, comes with a wooden hammer, and is priced at RM180.
