Weekend Champagne Brunch at Chateau Dionne Kuala Lumpur

[Premium Dining]

We recently headed back to Chateau Dionne Kuala Lumpur, to try their newly launched Weekend Champagne Brunch Menu. If you haven’t yet read my previous feature on Chateau Dionne Kuala Lumpur, you can read it here – https://timchew.net/2020/09/09/chateau-dionne-kuala-lumpur-french-fine-dining-restaurant-in-damansara-heights/

The weekend brunch is priced at RM168++ per pax for 3 courses (choose one dish per category) together with freshly baked sourdough, French baguette and croissant served with French butter and jam, and seasonal canapes.

You can also add-on RM200++ per pax for free flow of selected champagne between 12pm till 3pm, or open a bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal (Chateau Dionne KL has an impressive selection of wines as one of the owners is a huge wine enthusiast).

OEUF – Organic Egg with Spinach, Mushrooms, Red Wine Jus.

This dish comes with the set and is on top of the 3 courses below.

 SELECTION OF STARTER

SAUMON at Chateau Dionne
SAUMON

SAUMON
Beetroot Smoked Salmon Gravlax, Dill Sponge, Sour Cream

This was a very elegant and pretty little starter and showcased Chef Andy’s skills playing with different flavours and textures! The richness of the salmon was balanced by flavours of the infused beetroot, and the sour cream, while the dill “sponge” provided an interesting contrast of texture.

FOIE GRAS at Chateau Dionne
FOIE GRAS

FOIE GRAS
“Rougié” Foie Gras Au Torchon, Figs Chutney, Mique Bread

I absolutely love foie gras and this one was perfectly executed! The figs and strawberries added balance to the very rich foie gras, while the crusty French bread provided some nice textures.

SALADE NIÇOISE
Niçoise Salad, Grilled Tuna, Balsamic Vinaigrette

CHAMPIGNON ET ARTICHAUTS
Mushroom & Artichoke Velouté, Black Truffle, Parmesan

SELECTION OF MAIN COURSE

MAGRET DE CANARD

MAGRET DE CANARD
Duck Breast, Lentil du Puy, Duck Jus

This was delicious, tender and flavourful! I know some people don’t like to eat duck due to the “duck smell”. However, this one really didn’t have that unpleasant smell, and was right up my alley as I do enjoy the earthy flavours of a well-cooked duck.

POISSON DU JOUR
Daily Market Fish, Saffron Potato, Bouillabaisse

BŒUF
Beef Wellington, Glazed Vegetables, Red Wine Sauce

PĀTES at Chateau Dionne Kuala Lumpur
PĀTES

PĀTES
Linguine, Squid, Prawn, Crustacean Reduction

A plateful of umami with lots of seafood! The pasta was beautifully cooked and coated with a flavourful reduction which provided a burst of umami. Being a pasta lover, I really enjoyed this dish!

SELECTION OF DESSERT

SOUFFLE

SOUFFLE
Grand Marnier Souffle, Orange, Vanilla Ice Cream

The staff will show you how to eat this dessert by cutting into the souffle then pouring in the orange and vanilla ice cream. The combination of flavours were a delightful end to a very decadent brunch!

AGRUMES
Lemon Curd, Yuzu Jelly, Citrus Granita, Sable

CHOCOLAT
Chocolate Texture, Raspberry Sorbet, Tuile

Petit Four

Oh wow! I love French cuisine and I really enjoyed the Weekend Brunch at Chateau Dionne Kuala Lumpur. I was so full that I only had something light (and a few drinks) for dinner.

This Weekend Brunch provides an option for a luxe meal, so instead of going for another fine-dining dinner, you can switch things around and try have the brunch here instead.

There are not many champagne brunches in Kuala Lumpur currently, but this one really sets the bar. I’m excited though to see how the industry reacts to this superb addition to the exciting dining scene in the Klang Valley.
