[Timepieces]
Headed over to Suria KLCC in downtown Kuala Lumpur on 29 April 2019 for the launch of Rado’s Master of Materials exhibition at the mall’s center concourse. The exclusive event included appearances by special guests Mawar Rashid and Raf Yaakob, and kicked off with a fashion show featuring the brand’s latest timepieces.
The main focus of the presentation was on the brand new Captain Cook models from Rado’s Tradition collection. Drawing on the brand’s illustrious past and strong reputation for design, the Captain Cook collection combines vintage authenticity with modern materials updates, while keeping to the distinctive Rado signature look.
Black, green, blue and brown elements in Rado’s signature high-tech ceramic make their Captain Cook debut and are reflected in matching dials.
The sapphire crystal – first introduced on the Diastar 1 in 1962 and now a feature of all Rado watches – replaces the acrylic glass of the original, adding scratch resistance while retaining its bubble-effect box shape. These new models feature the powerful Swiss made, high-quality C07 movement with extended 80-hour power reserve – a feature that’s coveted by modern wearers.
