Protect Your Car with Ceramic Pro Permanent Nano-Ceramic Paint Coating

I recently sent my car to Ceramic Pro Malaysia which is located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam for a paint restoration and Ceramic Pro Permanent Nano-Ceramic Paint Coating treatment. My car is nine (9) years old and thus the paintwork was far from new with lots of micro-scratches from all the car washes. However, fortunately, apart from that, the paintwork was still in relatively good condition with no deep scratches and just some minor stone chips in the front end.

Impressive video right? Well look at the cars in the service area which are undergoing the Ceramic Pro treatment! As I was waiting, a BMW and a Porsche Cayenne pulled into the parking lot, and the owners left their cars there to undergo the treatment.

Anyway I left my car there too as the process takes quite a while (even a few days if you’re looking at an extensive restoration job like my car).

Step 1 – Car Wash & Clay Bar Process

A thorough washing and claying process with a clay bar to remove all impurities before the paint correction.

Step 2 – Paint Correction Stage (3 steps polish)

An extensive paint correction through a three (3) step polishing process to hide all the ugly micro-scratches accumulated through the years. Essential to provide as flawless a base as possible before the application of the Ceramic Pro coating. I actually recommend that you bring your car straight from the car showroom to Ceramic Pro to get your coating done, especially if it’s an expensive car!

Step 3 – Ceramic Pro spray coating application (exterior & interior)

Finally it was time to apply the Ceramic Pro coatings (there are different coatings for the different surfaces – body, rims, dashboard, leather seats, glass, etc. etc.). Do note that Ceramic Pro 9H can only be professionally applied by Approved Applicators.

Ceramic Pro 9H is a Permanent Nano-Ceramic Paint Coating that features a High Gloss finish, unmatched Super Hydrophobic Effect, Chemical Resistance, UV Resistance, Thermal Resistance and Anti-Grafitti. This puts Ceramic Pro in a category by itself, compared to sealants or waxes that degrade quickly.

Both the Super Hydrophobic and Anti-Grafiti effect combined mean the surface coated with 9H will stay cleaner for longer as dirt and grime will not stick to the surface, while the super hydrophobic effect of the coating will cause water to bead up and roll of the surface with any dirt and grime (this effect constantly impresses me when I’m washing the car at home!). The hard ceramic film also offers superior protection from damaging contamination and harsh chemicals AND those pesky bird droppings!

The 9H coating forms a permanent bond to the paint work and will not wash away or break down, and can only be removed by abrasion. The unique formulation of 9H has enabled it to be multi-layered which means the thickness of the coating can be increased with additional layers allowing a thicker/ harder film that will increase its protection. Even the rims can be coated! Now dirt washes off easier than before!

Now coating the leather seats is very important as they tend to wear out and crack if you don’t look after them properly!

Step 4 – Infrared Curing process

After the application was completed, my car underwent an infrared curing process to permanently bond the coatings to the surface of my car, ensuring that it will last at least five (5) years!

Ceramic Pro once cured, is measured to have hardness above 9H. Your car’s normal clear coat has hardness between 2H and 4H. The increase in the hardness of the coated surface is really huge and Ceramic Pro is the hardest paint coating on the market today. This new glass shield as a sacrificial layer, preserving the original factory paint.

Any surface scratches that happen in the coating are easily removed with light polishing which will not weaken the integrity of the original clear coat. The paint also won’t fade or age due to the UV protection in the glass coating.

OK so exactly how does it work? This pretty amazing nano technology allows the Ceramic nanoparticles to fill the smallest pores in the paint which makes the Ceramic Pro glass shield shiny, smooth and extremely slick or hydrophobic. Ceramic Pro dramatically lowers the surface tension preventing environmental contaminants such as: bird droppings, bugs, dirt, tar and graffiti paint from bonding to the surface. Water easily removes dirt from the surface by encapsulating it while rolling off the surface, hence the “self-cleaning effect”.

Step 5 – Magnus Pro Paint Protection Film (PPF)

I also had the Magnus Pro Paint Protection Film (PPF) applied to my headlights as well as wing mirrors to protect them against stone chips. If you have extra budget, you can even wrap the front of your car or even your whole car with this as it offers an even higher level of protection especially against stone chips and scratches from neighbouring cars in the parking lot.

I went to collect the car a few days later and I was stunned by the results!

I never imagined that it would turn out as good as it did! Really a very pleasant surprise indeed!

Look at this test done on a Porsche Panamera.

BTW I can attest to the bird shit test as I found that it’s much easier to remove bird droppings from the body as compared to before. Also, I don’t have to hurriedly clean it off (bird droppings is acidic and eats through your car’s paint) as the coating protects the paint.

Below is the package that my car underwent. Yes it costs quite a bit and a friend of mine asked why he should spend so much to protect the paintwork which he can respray at less of the cost. He also said that he changes cars every 5 to 6 years hence it would be a waste. Yes you could always respray your car after a few years, however if you don’t coat your car you’ll need to send it for regular waxing every couple of months and polishing every year just to maintain it, not to mention additional costs for the detailing of the interior.

With Ceramic Pro, you just need to wash it with some gentle car shampoo (which you can easily do at home) to maintain it. No waxing, no polishing and no need to respray after a few years! Actually the cost adds up to almost the same, but the difference is that you save the time and effort sending your car for waxing and polishing. Additionally, the car will retain its new look (yes the interior as well as the exterior!) and if you want to sell it after 5 – 6 years you can definitely get a higher price due to its extremely well-maintained appearance/ outer condition!

So there – you get back your investment, save a ton of time and effort, AND most importantly – get to drive a car that looks brand new each day!
