Star Wars – The Last Jedi Premier at TGV Sunway Velocity
I’m quite the Star Wars fan, having watched all the movies, Rogue One, as well as Star Wars Rebels throughout the years. Hence I was quite stoked when TGV invited us over for their exclusive premier and IMAX 3D screening of the much-awaited Star Wars: The Last Jedi on the 13th of December at TGV Cinemas’ Lightspeed Lounge in Sunway Velocity Mall, with selected members of TGV Cinemas’ MovieClub, partners, VIPs, media and celebrities.
The event launched a two week long exhibit inspired by ‘Canto Bight’ – a playground for the rich and famous (think of it like Vegas or Macau) depicted in the movie. Ruby and I were treated to a Star Wars-themed fashion show, a string quartet performance, lightsaber combat routines, costumed characters, PlayStation VR gaming, a freeze-cam photo booth and a buffet with dishes from INDULGE, TGV Cinemas’ premium movie lounge/ cinema/ restaurant.
The TGV Cinemas’ Lightspeed Lounge is open to public until 31 December 2017, with food and beverage on sale. TGV Cinemas’ MovieClub members are entitled to a discount. Advance ticket sales for The Last Jedi started on 17th November 2017 and every purchase of more than 4 IMAX tickets entitles moviegoers to enter a contest to win a limited edition set of Star Wars Funko Pop figurines.
After the cocktail and dinner, we headed into TGV’s IMAX hall to enjoy the movie in unparalleled visual clarity, earth-shattering sound and stadium-style seating, which creates the world’s most immersive cinematic adventure. Trust me on this – watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi in IMAX 3D as it will be one really breathtaking ride!
The movie itself was absolutely brilliant from every standpoint – storyline, visuals and acting. Two and a half hours felt like barely anything and we were left wanting more. Rian Johnson showed his writing and directing prowess and made what I thought was one of the best Star Wars movies of all time, right up there with The Empire Strikes Back and Rogue One. If you haven’t yet watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you absolutely must before watching The Last Jedi as the plot continues right where Episode 7 ended.
TGV Cinemas’s Head of Operations, Mr. Mohamad Kabir also added that “The ‘exciting premiere of The Last Jedi will cap the launch of TGV Cinemas’ Home of the Heroes brand, which positions TGV Cinemas as the home of everyone’s favourite pop culture movie heroes, be it from Star Wars, DC or Marvel, all under one roof.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening at TGV Cinemas in Malaysia.

Grand Launch of Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd’s New HQ and Warehouse
We headed over to Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd’s (LHFB) new headquarters and warehouse on 29 November 2017 for their grand launch with invited guests, media and trade partners. LHFB is a leading importer & distributor of premium beer, wine and spirits in Malaysia, relocated their facilities from Taman Midah, to a strategic two blocks of office/warehouse located in Sungai Besi.
The history of the LHFB’s trading business goes back to 1956. Over the years, the company grew and provided services such as importing, distributing and wholesaling a variety of beers, wine, spirits & many other sundry items. Today, LHFB has a strong portfolio representing many leading international leading alcohol beverage brands like Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Erdinger, Dalmore and many more. LHFB is also a key distributor and strategic partner of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd.
The new facility is four (4) times the size by land area and holds ten times the warehousing capacity compared to its previous location. To ensure the freshness and quality of the goods, 50% of the warehouse space is fully insulated and temperature controlled which is particularly important especially for temperature sensitive products like beer and wine.
