Denise and I headed over to the Miss Malaysia Global Beauty Queen 2016 Grand Finals on 4 Sept 2016 at Pullman Bangsar. The pageant was established since 1998 and has a participation of more than 100 countries worldwide.
The Miss Malaysia Global Beauty Queen is a platform where young women are given the opportunities to showcase their talent, share their diverse cultural backgrounds and their vision of how the 21st century women should be.
This year’s theme – Beauty That Make a Difference – empowers young women to be proactive, women who are self-confident, with a purposeful mission to create an impact in the market place and to use their personalities and ability to make better tomorrow through creative innovations, spearheading a new venture or just contributing to improving an existing system in society.
The Malaysian winner will join all the other finalists from the other participating countries for the global finals in Korea in October 2016. There, the Malaysian winner will have the opportunity to showcase Malaysia’s flavoured culture, hospitality and its awareness and inclusiveness of what’s going on in the world.
The pageant is organised by IDIOM Event Management. “It is both an honour and pleasure to see the contestants giving their all in this pageant and I wish the Winner all the best as she represent Malaysia as Goodwill Ambassador in the world stage in Korea,” Says Ms Moo Yan Yee, National Director of the Ms Malaysia Global Beauty Queen 2016.

The finals saw 14 contestants participating in this year’s pageant.
The winners are:
Winner – Patricia Phang (KUALA LUMPUR)
First Runner Up – Yeoh Yee Nee (PENANG)
Second Runner Up – Cheryl Loo (PENANG)
