Headed over to Bangsar Baru for the grand launch of Jiro KL – the latest club featuring pure deep and tech house music in the upmarket neighbourhood of Bangsar Baru. The launch party saw around 300 invited guests including some celebrities pack the club. Emcee John Dave was on hand with resident DJ Alan Tand on the decks spinning Jiro’s signature deep, tech and a mix of R&B tunes. while DJ Hightech took over later in the night.
The club is situated along Jalan Telawi 3 (above The Social), and can be spotted by its ‘Honey Comb’ door which leads to the club on the first floor. Grab a seat by the window and you’ll have a view that overlooks the bustling Bangsar Village and Telawi area. The interior consists of custom-built leather with wooden tables and verandah seating overseeing the view at the terrace area. Jiro KL has a full-service bar, a fully equipped DJ console, honey comb lighting and a state of the art Funktion One audio sound system.
Jiro KL also offers two VIP areas, one of it located right behind the DJ console, and the other a private VIP room where you can enjoy premium services, and a private DJ (yes there is another DJ console in this room!) in a more exclusive setting.
Jiro KL supports underground deep and tech house music, and will host both local and international DJs such as DJ Martin Eyerer and Laurence Graham in the coming months. To compliment its music direction, the club will also feature theme nights such as Soulful Sessions on Tuesdays, RnB Hip Hop Anthems on Wednesdays and DejaVu – classic house mix on Thursdays with resident DJ Alan Tand from Jakarta featuring guest DJs Raysoo, Kumar, Bryan Burger and more.
Ladies, you can look forward to Ladies Night on Wednesdays with free-flow of special house pouring from 9.00pm onwards.
Jiro KL is located at:
61-1, Jalan Telawi 3,
59100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Imara Mediterranean Cuisine
Wei Lynn and I headed over to Imara Mediterranean Cuisine at Glo Damansara over the weekend for a casual dinner and catch up. Unlike a whole lot of other “Mediterranean restaurants” in Kuala Lumpur which serves food from only one or two countries, Imara’s extensive menu features Greek, Italian, Turkish, Lebanese and Middle Eastern fare.
I really liked the spicy lamb sausages while the chicken drummetts were so fragrant and flavourful! Don’t order the chicken drummetts (they have garlic on top) if you intend to kiss your partner after dinner though. A refreshing and not too expensive Mediterranean restaurant and a good addition to the food and beverage scene in Damansara/ PJ.
(As I was’t quite prepared for a food review, I didn’t bring along my camera thus only used my smartphones to snap the pics.)
Imara Mediterranean Cuisine will be participating in the upcoming Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) 2016. This year’s festival is themed “High Octane Chefs” as the Formula One Grand Prix will be in town around the time the festival kicks off.
