Pause for Le Moment with Kronenbourg 1664

Life is made up of memorable and precious moments – lying on a beautiful beach watching the sunset, unwrapping your new Chanel bag, that first kiss with your boyfriend or girlfriend, walking down the aisle with your life partner, seeing your baby for the first time. Of course, those are moments in your life that don’t happen often, unless of course you have a wealthy benefactor who constantly brings you for holidays or buys you that branded luxury handbag, the serial marrying type or believe in polygamy, or are very productive in making babies.

All jokes aside, there are also simpler moments in life that can be enjoyed without spending a bomb. Perhaps enjoying a quiet afternoon with a loved one cooking together…or art jamming (the Titanic “paint me Jack” version perhaps?), or spending some quality time with your parents/ grandparents – getting to really know them, or even a nice round of drinks to catch up with your best buddies.

My point is, while it’s nice to go on a vacation somewhere far away, or have a nice new expensive luxury handbag, or go out with that rich guy who drives a Porsche, material possessions or expensive trips will only give you that much satisfaction. It’s spending that quality time with those who really matter, such as your loved ones, or perhaps contributing to society by feeding the homeless or visiting an orphanage, that will ultimately bring about lasting joy and satisfaction.

If you choose to focus solely on yourself – the accumulation of wealth, thinking that money and material goods can buy happiness, it’s a never ending chase, wanting more and more and never being satisfied with what you have.

Perhaps it’s time for a paradigm shift…

Focusing on the non-material qualities, such as good character, or growing yourself as a person, or the effort that someone puts in rather than the money, could lead to moments that are priceless. Isn’t that home-cooked meal by a sincere partner worth much more than that RM1,000 fine dining dinner with that rich playboy?

Then again, in these materialistic times we live in, it’s hard to focus on what is important, when society tells us that the only way you can be happy is by living in a bungalow, driving a sports car or having lots of luxury bags/ Hermes earrings. At the end of life’s journey, can you bring any of those along with you?

Wake up and focus on the things that matter!

I’m glad that Kronenbourg 1664 has come up with a new series of activations that encourages consumers to enjoy quality moments. Not expensive moments mind you but QUALITY MOMENTS! The Kronenbourg 1664 “Le Moment” series of activations is an extension of Kronenbourg 1664 “Taste the French Way of Life” (TTFWOL) campaign which aims to get people to have proper work/ life balance, taking some time off your usual hectic pace of life to enjoy little daily indulgences.

With that in mind, MHB’s Andy Kho and I together with our friends Alice, Evonne, Joanne and Kassey headed over to the Le Moment launch on 9 August 2016 held at Caffeinees in downtown Kuala Lumpur. The event was a pretty chilled and relaxed affair with us enjoying lots of ice-cold Kronenbourg Blanc and some delicious canapes.. The setting was really conducive for us to savour the moment, being thankful for life’s simple pleasure, strengthening our bonds of friendship, and also kick back and relax after a long day at work and having some balance in life.
