Headed over to Atria Shopping Gallery on 6 April 2016 for sweatspa™’s introduction of Malaysian pop and R&B singer, Ning Baizura binti Sheikh Hamzah or better known as Ning Baizura, as its brand ambassador.  Ning has won various awards including AIM Awards, Voice of Asia, and Best Artiste Development Award and is known for her roles in movies such as Malaikat di Jendela and Muallaf.

As the brand ambassador and spokesperson for sweatspa™, Ning will advocate the importance of sweating for health, keeping a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  The busy Ning, who is a mother of one, found sweatspa™ the ideal wellness solution for her, having to juggle a hectic schedule, which includes her family, singing career, as well as her businesses.

sweatspa™, is different from the traditional saunas, each cabin utilises medical grade Sunlighten™ Full Spectrum Infrared Therapy with emphasis on safety and comfort, to detoxify, relax and rejuvenate the body. We got the chance to visit their outlet which is located on the first floor of Atria Shopping Gallery to see this new technological innovation for ourselves. The outlet has multiple rooms which each contain a different sized saunas to cater to the number of individuals going for the treatment. You can opt for the single occupant sauna or if you’re going with a partner you can opt for a bigger sized one.

The staff will take your weight and body fat content beforehand which is entered into the system to help you track your progress, after which customers get to enjoy the sweatspa treatment in the sauna. The treatment can be used in tandem with exercise, and the staff will advise you on whether go have a treatment before or after your exercise depending on the type of exercise.

 

 

Sabrina Tang, founder of sweatspa™ added, “Near Infrared Rays are best for wound healing and increased immune functions, Mid Infrared levels are best for increasing circulation and promoting muscle relaxation, and FIR levels are used primarily for detoxification purposes. Customers may enjoy the therapy at our outlets or in the comforts of their home.  When they visit us, we will take a body scan; and after each session, our Body Composition Analysis (Inbody) system will read the changes.  This way, our customers can track their progress.”

Gimme Gimme ABBA at The Gardens Theatre

Headed over to The Gardens Theatre with Ruby to catch the opening night of GIMME GIMME ABBA, which features four (4) highly acclaimed and established West End performers and session singers who have many years of experience performing at the highest level.

The night began with the first set which had ABBA hits such as Waterloo, Take A Chance On Me, Honey Honey, SOS, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Does Your Mother Know, Ring Ring, The Name Of The Game, The Winner Takes It All, Chiquitita, and Money, Money, Money.

 

 

The second set though had most of the crowd (which consisted of quite a few people in their 40’s and neyond) including Ruby and myself standing up and dancing along to the songs which included Summer Night City, I Have A Dream, Super Trooper, One of Us, Voulez-Vous, Lay All Your Love On Me, Fernando, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, and Thank You For The Music.

The event is organised by HOMME PRODUCTIONS PLT, which is a professional theatre production company incorporated in Malaysia in 2010 and is internationally focused with a strong British connection. In 2012, it tied up with British Theatre Playhouse and Worldwide Entertainment Ltd, in order to work closely with established British playwrights, writers, actors, directors, musical directors, set and costume designers. The company has produced and presented a series of highly successful British productions in Malaysia including Yes Prime Minister – Leo Sayer In Concert – No Sex Please We’re British & The Definitive Rat Pack.
