[Review]
Headed over to Brotzeit in Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) one sunny afternoon to try out their new lunch specials. Brotzeit is located on the ground floor behind WIP and where the old George & Dragon pub used to be.

Started off with some items from the Bar Bites menu such as the Pigs in Blanket (pictured above). A personal favourite of mine and I enjoyed the juicy sausage wrapped in pork bacon. The crispy potato wedges on the side were pretty delicious too. This dish was made to pair with beer!

Not bad. The chicken went pretty well with the sweet glaze on top.
Now on to the lunch specials.

A foot long chicken sausage topped with curry sauce. I’m generally a bigger fan of pork sausages but this was pretty decent. Nice amount of fries on the side too. Another dish that would go great with beer!

Oh what a heartwarming and rustic dish! Delicious and tasty and rather sinful! Be forewarned that this dish can be rather filling.

A little Mexican influence? Well why not? The chilli con carne was made with pork instead of beef and was really tasty!

We also tried the Farmer’s Plate which consisted of of Gypsy belly bacon, roast pork, meatballs in honey rib sauce, pork cheese sausage and bacon with mash and sauerkraut. Loved most of the items except the roast pork which was cooked the Western style so I didn’t get the crackling that you’d get with the traditional Chinese siew yoke. Nevertheless a good dish for sharing among meat lovers.

Chocolate profiterole with vanilla ice-cream and cinnamon sugared apple fritter on vanilla sauce. I must say that it’s pretty darn good even though I’m not much of a dessert person!

The very first Paulaner beer. A double bock brewed for the first time 350 years ago, smoky and sweet, malty rose with accents of Hallertau hops. Rich, full bodied and hearty, yet balanced with a hint of chocolate. Volume: 33cl, alcohol content 7.9%.
Oh wow! Now this is a beer! Strong and with complex and dark flavours! What a way to end the meal!

You get a free ice lemon tea with any lunch special ordered. You could also opt to add on a cup-a-soup, coffee, tea, or fruit juice for an additional RM5.00 or a side salad for an additional RM7.00. You’ll also get a complimentary dessert if you add on the salad or soup.
