One bright and sunny Saturday morning, my partner in crime and I decided to try out the buffet breakfast at THIRTY8 at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Now we usually go to some cafe somewhere for a Western style breakfast of poached eggs or big breakfast and coffee, however this time round we decided to have breakfast 38 storeys above KL!
THIRTY8 is located on the 38th floor of the Grand Hyatt and you’ll need to take the lift up to the 39th floor lobby then take the stairs down one floorThe restaurant encompasses almost the entire floor and the buffet line is divided into three main sections – local, Western and everything elseWe were very impressed that most of the food was actually prepared there in the live kitchens in front of your eyes ensuring that you get fresh food!
Start off your day with some fresh and healthy fruit juices!Lovely croissants and pastries. The smell of these were oh so tempting!Buns and breads of different varieties and sizes meant we were very spoilt for choiceEggs done whichever way you wantedI love a nice omelette in the morning and that’s what I ordered. Paired it with a delicious sausage, a hashbrown and some grilled veges.Assorted cereals which went well with the fresh milkThere were also some Middle Eastern dishes like some flat breads with lots of dips
A must have in Malaysia – Nasi Lemak bungkus!I liked the cold cuts corner where you could opt for cold cuts of meat and even sashimi!
Chinese style porridge
Absolutely loved the corned beef!Sausages!Lovely poached eggs! The yolk was cooked perfectly and nicely runny!Japanese breakfastFreshly made donuts. Notice how they are not a lot of food on display as the chefs made a little at a time to keep the food fresh!Danish pastries!Muffins!Nice fluffy pancakes! One thing that really impressed me was the amount of toppings, sauces and condiments that were available to go with the dishes
Healthy fresh fruits to end the mealBy the time I was done I was in a food coma. Totally skipped lunch that day.She washed it down with a nice cup of tea. You get to choose the type of tea you want from the list of imported teas.
We were really impressed by the sheer amount of dishes available. I mean we’ve been to many 5-star hotels and had their buffet breakfast before but this one really takes the cake! The view of KL city is spectacular and if you’re facing KLCC there’s a nice view of the towers and the fountain. It might be a little bright during the daytime but the restaurant has semi-transparent blinds to cut down the heat and light. Certainly an option if you want to bring your partner somewhere extra special for breakfast.
The buffet breakfast at THIRTY8 runs from 6.00am to 10:30am, and is priced at RM75.00++ per pax. The buffet comes complimentary with certain room packages.
THIRTY8 is on the 38th Floor of the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur which is located at:
