Headed over to Marble 8 in Kuala Lumpur for the review of the Sundown Hours at the M8 Bar. M8 Bar is an ultra-modern bar with renowned house, nu disco, R&B, and electro DJs, and serves some unique cocktails by skilled in-house mixologists. Like the rest of the Marble 8 building, the bar and the garden behind offers an amazing view of the Petronas Twin Towers.
So happen on the night we visited M8 Bar was having a special Moet & Chandon promotion hence we got a free Moet & Chandon cocktail to start us off
It was also nearing Christmas so the hosts and hostesses were dressed up in Christmas costumes
Suzanne was very happy to take a pic with the guys
As was I with the pretty Santarinas!
Anyway on to the cocktails.
Strong cocktail (left) and Ambitious cocktail (right) – both were specially curated for Mood & Music night
Mora Anatomy – RM38.00 – Angostura 7 years, Galliano, Frangelico, Earl Grey Tea, Vanilla Syrup, Lemon Juice and Blackberry Jam
Chrysanthemum Cosmo – RM38.00 – Chrysanthemum Flowers-infused Vodka, Triple Sec, Cranberry Juice and Lime Juice. I don’t personally like cocktails, I’m more a whisky/ cognac and beer guy but this cocktail was my favourite of the whole bunch. It was like drinking chrysanthemum tea…well a strong version that is. Suzanne liked this too.
Sueno Mexicano – RM38.00 – Tequila, Homemade Watermelon Syrup and Lime Juice
Wolfberry 8 – RM35.00 – Gin, Wolfberries, Grapefruit Juice, Passion Fruit Pulps and Simple Syrup
I’m not really a cocktail person but Suzanne seemed to enjoy most of the cocktails. Guess it’s a girl thing. Anyway on to the food. The food served at M8 Bar ranges from urban gourmet burgers to Italian pizzas and everything else in between.
Baked nachos with sour cream and guacamole – RM25.00 Loaded with lots of cheese – just how I like it!
Steak fries with parmesan cheese, parsley and dash of truffle – RM18.00 Wow! The fragrance of the truffle was intoxicating and there was just enough to impart the taste without making it overpowering. Certainly the best french fries I’ve ever eaten!
Fried buffalo wings with blue cheese and celery – RM25.00
Crispy and flavourful chicken wings that went beautifully with the lovely blue cheese dip!
Bell Pepper Quesadilla, sour cream, guacamole with roasted chicken – RM22.00
Just look at the cheese!
Angus Beef Sliders, served with French fries – RM48.00 The beef patty was simply awesome! Tender, juicy and flavourful!
An awesome little selection of chocolates to end the meal
Girls and chocolate…
I must say that the food is really good! Sure it’s not fine dining style like Marble 8 steakhouse beside it but it’s meant to be a bar, and I’d give M8 Bar the award for the bar with the best food in Malaysia (and I’ve been to many decent bars)!
M8 Bar is good spot to unwind with colleagues over some drinks, as well as a romantic spot to enjoy cocktails with your date while watching the sunset. Of course the pricing wise, it’s not exactly cheap so keep this place for the more special occasions – office farewells/ promotions, birthdays or a special date.
