MHB’s Aerisk, Andy Kho and I headed over to Publika in Kuala Lumpur on 29 August 2014 for Carlsberg’s BPL Trophy Tour and kick-off of their consumer promotion in conjunction with their second year as the official beer partner of the BPL.
Now as I previously took a photo with both the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League trophy, I was really looking forward to taking a pic with the BPL trophy since I have been an avid follower of the league for many years now.
From 29 to 31 August 2014, the trophy which arrived directly from the UK, made stops throughout the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor in a customised truck cum display platform, the Carlsberg ‘Champions Trophy Truck’ before heading off on tour to other countries in the region.
Football fans got the chance to take photos and videos with the BPL trophy at the ‘Champions Trophy Truck’ stops, and even win themselves some BPL memorabilia by snapping a photo of the ‘Champions Trophy Truck’ on the road, or taking a ‘selfie’ with the official BPL trophy. The most creative photos and poses uploaded to Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #CarlsbergTrophyTour won some exclusive merchandise and premiums from Carlsberg.
At the launch, Henrik Juel Andersen, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia took a group photo with us and explained this season’s direction, “This BPL season, Carlsberg will focus on three things, beer, football and friendship. Football is as much about the supporters as it is the clubs and it has been said that the sport belongs to the fans who support it week in week out. As the official beer partner of the BPL, we kick started the season by rewarding our consumers with an experience that few in the world can say they’ve had. There will be many more moments of glory and timeless friendship throughout the season and we invite our consumers to enjoy these memorable and unique Carlsberg moments with friends.”
Carlsberg’s latest consumer promotion will run from 1 September to 31 October 2014, and is giving each grand prize winner the money-can’t-buy opportunity to attend the ‘Ultimate BPL Retreat’ with three of their closest friends.
The 2 day/ 1 night retreat will be hosted by four (4) BPL legends, where attendees will receive a unique football experience while strengthening the bond of friendship over ice-cold Carlsberg.
At selected coffee shops, food courts and restaurants, you have a chance to win passes for four to the ‘Ultimate BPL Retreat, while RM388.00 awaits each of twelve lucky consumers who find a trophy icon on the bottle cap of a large (640ml) Carlsberg Green Label bottle.
